Thanks, Rosefriend, it seems OK so far this morning. I went back to explorer, because Firefox played up - I lost my tool bars and can't retrieve them. I think you will find that it is IE that is playing up - as I said before I would delete Firefox and download it again with the google toolbar and when the Pop-up comes (it does automatically) to ask you if you want your Favourites/Bookmarks adding to Firefox, say yes, and that's all there is to it.

Oh Rosefriend, you are funny - I would probably delete the whole of my hard disc - I am so idiotic and a coward/scaredy cat where techie stuff is concerned. No way am I capable of doing anything like that! I should give up on trying to help if I were you...but thank you for trying.

That happened to me Geranium, I had gone into tools Internet options and altered my cooky setting in privacy ! I had to go back and take it the slider down to medium then it all worked again! When I came on here it welcomed me as guest and wouldn't change even when I logged in with password !! My fault entirely.

I really, really don't understand my laptop foibles. On Explorer a message comes up to say that a program is causing IE not to work and it's going to close down. It didn't, and there were no program running anyway! I tried everything, even a forced shut down - nothing helped, so I tried Firefox and here I am!

Mmmh - well I hate to say it but it is IE - I only ever use it if I need a third browser - I use Firefox and Opera... Proboards test everything on all the browsers there are, but you can guarantee that if there are going to be problems it will be Internet Explorer and Chrome that it happens on. Pleased that all is well on FF Geranium.

I favour Chrome and Mozilla Firefox these days on my laptop but tbo they all have thier fors and againsts. On my Hudl Tablet I use Chrome and Dolphin, the later is specifically for Android Tablets I think, all get a bit confusing tbo

OH uses chrome, Chuckles, and I might have to change from IE. You're right - it doesn't like proboards for some reason and my laptop freezes frequently. Firefox is better for the forums. That annoying message vanished yesterday afternoon - I really haven't a clue why it was there and then not. Thank goodness it did, though, as I really had to do some work on my laptop!

They all have thier fors and againsts and people have thier preferences, you get familiar with one and sometimes don't want to change, and all this techi stuff can take some of us out of our comfort zone. I had a blip this afternoon, a message saying some file or other had stopped working, I made a note, looked it up on google, basically it said its a file that can cause problems and to get rid, I searched my pc and I have no file of that name on my laptop so what was all that about

Just because Windows search cannot find a file, does not necessarily mean it is not on your machine. There are plenty of Hidden files which Search does not even look for.

A couple of days ago I had an update from Adobe Active x I think that was it! anyway I downloaded it and started having problems with my keyboard, not just on here but on a couple of other forums as well! I was typing and nothing would happen! then maybe one or two letters! I really struggled and ended up just going off. I tried cleaning everything up defrag etc; still I had the problem, I had a look to see what updates I had downloaded , the only one was this AX so Ive taken it off and haven't had the problem again.
Anyone else had this? it will probably come on and tell me to do it again, does anyone know will things run alright without it ?

Tig, BarbaraThere are problems with UK users - it seems to have been partially sorted but now has started again - pages are taking an age to load apparently. The admins will be online later on so I expect some kind of movement in sorting things out...

OK - this is the newest post from Proboards... Hi All!
As we confirmed in the sticky last night we know the source of this issue in regards to the DDOS on one of our ad-partners being the cause. We believed that the issue would be clearing up overnight, but seeing as how it has not we're taking further steps now. You should hopefully be able to see significant improvements in the next hour!
So - we wait, lovely poeple. Let me know if you have any more problems when this has been resolved !!

Phew, that's much better thanks Rosefriend Typical that it started just after I'd fiddled with Chrome, so I immediately blamed that for the problems, although I am using Firefox at the moment! I will try Chrome again in a bit, just in case I have contributed to my own loading problems.

Rosefriend, it has been a while since we had an attack that affected us like the one yesterday. Shows at least that the barriers proboards have in place are working well. Fingers crossed that's the last one for a while.

Fingers crossed that's the last one for a while. It certainly has been a while since we had such a massive attack Ladygardener, - thanks also to Barbara, and Dutchy for alarming me about it as I had no problems whatsoever...it also made Tig, feel better knowing it wasn't her PC that was throwing the wobbly for being told to bugga awf!!

It wasn't just pro boards for me. Photobucket too kicked up. Ah welllllll thank you for the attentive a...se kicking. Though one can hardly blame the boar dies for a DDOS attack. Things are back to normal now.... Although there appear to be scary things like spiders and funny pumpkins on the board now....
