I think they kept his name for the design house but the supposed actual designer of the dress is a woman.

Wasn't it? There were lots of past royal wedding pics in the Telegraph magazine this w/e. They had the one of Charles and Di's wedding where everyone was in a fit of gigles...except Charles who probably doesn't do fits of giggles.
