I'd love to see a pic Jilly. I tried that down the garden but the bunnies ate the erigeron so I just had Bill on his own!

Well they did say it was a wildlife attracting combination Jasmine, probably not quite what they had in mind though.

No! I'm wondering about chocolate cosmos and bright red geraniums as I don't have the bright red salvia needed for the combination in GI

I've got one of my Chocolate Cosmos very close to Bishop of Llandaff Jasmine & that looks pretty good.

As I was saying on the other thread Auricula & Jasmine I've been v.v slow this month, in fact Auricula I've still got the July issue of GI for you , this week I promise. Luckily I think this is one of the months when there isn't a Gardening Which, or at least it hasn't arrived yet & I'm sure from other years they miss out one issue in the Winter & one in late summer, because I'm sure it's only 10 issues a year.

What books are you reading that are distracting you from your gardening mags Jilly?

You know my obsession with high fantasy Jasmine, after putting it off for ages because the reviews are always saying how complicated & hard to follow they are, I've just started The Malazan Book of the Fallen (all 10 volumes of it ) by Steven Erikson. I'm on book 2 atm & I'm finding it just complicated enough, just very hard to put down.

Only 8 more to go then Jilly then you can get back to Monty - he's looking very wistful in his Writing Garden this month - I ask you - A Writing Garden? ? I guess if you read in your garden you could have a Reading Garden! I might write a shopping list in mine and I can have a Writing Garden too!

I could put a computer in mine and have a shopping garden

I think my paper would get a bit soggy if I tried writing in the garden atm, which I suppose would make me quite wistful Thanks for GA Ladygardener, which arrived yesterday. Auricula, I've got July's issue of GI in my bag & I'm putting it in the post in a minute (finally )), well it is still July (just ), there's a lovely big section on Campanulas in it, so you wouldn't have wanted it too soon anyway if you can't buy any plants until after the 4th

Had a look at the Coreopsis pots in GW, I see they used my idea of putting Lantana with them, they just had the good taste not to use the orange & pink ones , I liked the purple Coleus with them though. Jasmine I'm just putting GA in the post, it's a cottage garden special, so lots of lovely gardens & planting combinations.

Yep... already this morning I have nearly : weeded a border ( got the trug out ) done the washing ( opened the laundry basket lid ) washed up ( filled the bowl with soapy water ) and swept the patio ( found the stiff brush ) Gosh... after that lot, I'm exhausted
