What gardening magazines do you all read.
I get the RHS mag and whilst flicking through the extras that always fall out of the pages I found a leaflet ........
Subscribe & Save 53% 1 year of The English Garden magazine for just £20 usually £43.20
Sounds a bargain and I happen to have £20 of my birthday money left. Anyone have this mag, is it a good read or can you recommend any other mags.

I get Gardeners World and Garden Answers every month Chuckles and for the first time last month I got Gardens Illustrated which is very diferent to the other 2 magazines but it has an article on dafodils this month so I will probably get it again. Is there a time limit on the English Garden Magazine offer? Is there time for you buy one copy and see what you think?

;D I subscribe to Groei & Bloei which is the mag of the Dutch Royal Horticultural Society of which I am a member just by subscribing to their Mag. I find I begin buying others this month as those are the March issues and I can't resist the nice articles on Dafs on Magnolia on rare Spring bulbs on starting up the allotment and general very Spring like looking articles on Gardens that make you drool. Most March issues do that and judging the general quality of any mag by their March issue is not a good idea But very nice work

Well I haven't subscribed yet and the leaflet doesn't appear to have a time limit on it Jasmine so I'll leave it a little longer and see if anyone here does get The English Garden Mag and also wait and see what other mags folk have and can recommend. I think Dutchy has a good point "judging the general quality of any mag by their March issue is not a good idea" If anyone is interested in the offer the address is ...... www.subscription.co.uk/englishgdn/RTG9

I have the RHS The Garde, GW as and when I feel like buying it but I've subscribed to English Garden for three years. I like it. It's not as practical as such as GW and has larger gardens. If you PM me your address I'll send you a couple of issues I have knocking around here somewhere so you can have a look through before committing.

Thanks for the offer Amo, very thoughtful and kind of you I've committed, bit the bullet and subscribed. Had a nice surprise, it turned out to be only £15 when I got to the relevant page, bonus ay ;D I thought more folk on here would have some sort of gardening magazine tbo even if it was only the occasional purchase, still be good to know

I stopped buying them because I thought to myself this £3.99 would buy me a plant, and I can learn stuff for free on here .

I buy 'Gardens Illustrated' when I got some spare dosh, even though it's a bit posh, as I really enjoy the Design sections, it's very grown up and it has features from all over the world - it's very interesting. The one I wouldn't be without, and buy every month is Organic Garden and Home which I always get a lot from every month - very practical but with a wide and interesting remit. I let my Mum buy the English Garden one and then nick it off her when she's read it!

OK I admit. Going on Hols to Austria where all things green are usually under layers of white I stock up on my Spring yearning addiction. So Dutch Mags: Tuin & Co, Home and Garden ( yes it is a Dutch version ),Tuinen by feeling Wonen. And German Mags ( what else is there to do when OH is filling the tank at the gas station ) Mein Schoner Garten extra and Garten Traume All of them March issues and some, even between the Dutch and the German ones, featuring the same garden. The latter is always good fun as for some reason they all do their own interview and have different pics. What the true glossies hide, you can sometimes see in the more basic ones. Like the horrid house of a neighbour or the fact that there is a bussy road behind the garden ;D
In all the 5 mags are not cheap but keep me going for ages and I keep the ones with the best pics for coming winter when I will be lounching on the couch, glass of wine at hand and a good dose of "sehnsucht" building up once more.
Mum gets the others this month. ;D

Yes I'm enjoying it Amo thanks. It's a nice easy read actually and you can pick it up and have a browse and not feel bogged down with it if you know what I mean. Some lovely gardens in it this month that one in Worcesteshire is lovely, love the brick path on page 50. Also like the stained glass disc on page 58. Like loads of stuff in it really, some ideas coming on ;D
Anyone else buy any other garden mags, so far we have got
The Garden (rhs) Gardeners World Garden Answers Gardens Illustrated Groei & Bloei Amatuer Gardening Horticulture week The English Garden Organic Garden and Home Tuin & Co, Home and Garden Mein Schoner Garten extra Garten Traume

I've just got December's magazine from the RHS and it has the most gorgeous picture on the front and the headline 'Reflections of Summer'. The photo is of cannas, dahlias, gladiolas, penstemon (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/cheesy.gif) and lots of other hot coloured summer plants in a border. I thought that was such a nice idea at this time of the year.

Lovely isn't it? I don't usually like December's magazines cos they concentrate too much on X*** and making fancy wreathes etc for house parties. Makes anyone having an ordinary X*** feel like Billy Nomates I have 3 monthly mags on subscription......GW Mag.....RHS Mag ( with the membership) and The English Garden, to give me something to aspire to ;D I have Amateur Gardening every week so I don't go without my gardening fix ;D What magazines do you have regularly?

Funnily enough I have all of the above! Or is it Gardens Illustrated I have and not The English Garden. Anyway, I have one and not the other but I'll have to go and have a look. I really like the RHS magazine although I wouldn't be sure about paying £4.25 for it. I like it free with the RHS membership! ;D
Have you seen the article on snowdrops in this months GW? They'll soon be up which is a positive step in the right direction. Love the photos in the free calendar too.

Yep, although I did throw away the calendar when I'd had a good look as we don't use one. I wouldn't pay separately for The Garden, but as part of RHS membership I think it's jolly good. I don't have snowdrops, well, I have 2 I keep planting them and they disappear

;D I have 2 monthly Dutch ones which are no good to you as far as information goes. I do at times buy GW when it is available and I like what I see while flipping through. ( still not in a plastic cover ) I have loads of snowdrops and intend to move some to the new lottie when they are in the green. Have you got mice or the like Auricula? Does any one know if RHS membership abroad also comes with the magazine?

I don't know Dutchy - it may be worth doing a 'Contact us' email and asking. The magazine comes out monthly and that makes it a big chunk of the RHS membership.
