Just put January & February EG in the post Ladygardener. Auricula, nearly finished GI, I'll get it in the post early next week. Thanks Jilly, they arrived this morning. Some lovely reading for the weekend. I must say, Sarah Raven is doing well for herself is'nt she. With the new A Year At Perch Hill.

She's a busy writer for The Telegraph too and always has a special offer advert for one sort of flower in the gardening section!

I've finished GI Jilly and will get it off asap. I really enjoy this edition as they always do someone's 100 must have plants - it's Dan Pearson this year. There's also an article about the Owen snowdrop garden. Having said I'm not ordering any snowdrops this year I now really, really want G. Godfrey Owen but it seems to be about £40 - that's an expensive potential mouse snack so I won't be getting it!

And it was here when I got in from work Jasmine, thank you. Just had a very quick flick, I must say Dan Pearson seems to have a very similar taste in plants to us

Me neither Ladygardener - you'd never think about folk trapped back then and having no idea their countrys' were going to war.

Val Bourne has an article on snowdrops in the paper this morning - even she gets onto snowdrop theft. There seems to be lots of gardens that aren't opening anymore as their snowdrops keep being stolen

That's not good Jasmine. I don't see how anyone could enjoy seeing them grow in their own garden if they've stolen them from someone else. Jilly, I'll be posting off the March Garden Answers and a copy of Garden News I bought later on.

Trouble is Ladygardener it's not usually fellow gardeners who carry out these thefts, think it's more likely to be people stealing them to sell, as some of them go for such huge amounts I'll let you know when GA arrives.

It's one thing to get a few seeds from someones garden but they'd have had to dig them up Jilly.!!!

Absolutely - you'd have to go armed to dig things up!!!! Or sometimes it's pots - that's how Avon Bulbs lost their Green Tear which is now selling on Ebay for a packet

Oh dear, can they not track down the seller and have them arrested?

I think they'd have to prove that they took the bulbs - they'd just say they always had them I suppose They have been saying that silly sales and silly prices are the cause of all this.

They could have a point Jasmine but I can't see it changing, can you.

Not at all - when there is a demand for something - whatever it is, some people will pay whatever is necessary to get their hands on it!

Thanks for the mags Ladygardener, they were here when I got home. They look to have had a bit of a traumatic journey though, they & what I think is an early birthday card are currently drying out above the storage heater atm. I'm just mentioning that, so that when I pass them on, Jasmine doesn't think I was careless with the wine I've just had a very quick look & I did notice the coupon for the mixed perennials on the front cover was missing, now I know that you're as hard up for space as I am LG, is there something that theinsidegardener wants to confess

hahahaha, Jilly I am always getting the blame, but actually that's something Ladygardener will have to confess to herself!! She had it ordered before I even knew about it!

Jilly, glad you got the magazines ok, I've recently had mail nearly falling apart they were so wet, must be the postie carrying them in his arms while the rain pelts down on him. Mine is great, he always has a bit of chat and a smile. Ah well, you know I really need 72 more plug plants to look after don't you know. I'm investing in the future that's for sure as it'll be years before they're ready to be planted out never mind flower. I wonder when they'll arrive.

You 2 do make me laugh Ladygardener. Actually it looks like a nice selection (love the spotty Foxgloves) & it would be nice to have a cutting patch up at the allotment perhaps to attract pollinators.

I knew I could count on you for support Jilly, thanks. Perhaps you'd like one or two of the spotty foxgloves, I could send you a couple if you'd like.

Now you're back Auricula I'll get Februrary's GI in the post, it's a lovely issue, Dan Pearson is doing his 100 best plants, I think we've got very similar tastes. Oh & have a look on page 11, I think I've found the GWD gardening outfit for 2014
