It depends what type of noise it was G, Rabbits and Hares make a screeching noise when they are in trouble its like Polestyrene rubbing up and down a window, may be the beast of Bodmin is extending his range ;D So far this morning there are 2 which have lambed so they seem to be moving quicker this week thank goodness as we need the room. OH has still not let any outside with the frosty nights but we are OK for room in that shed at least. It was bedding down day yesterday which took quite a few hours as I had to keep resting due to the pain in my back, OH said to go in but no I tried to carry on as long as I could I just kept resting in-between doing bits I got there in the end. Rita is doing well and today I will spend some time with her in the baby pen and getting her used to feeding off the auto feeder like the other 2. Right off to make our breakfast so long for now.

Do take care with your back Carol, I know you've got lots to do but you must look after yourself now. Glad to hear the little ones are doing ok now, it was sad to read about the one who died.

The farmer's Mum popped in today - she thinks those night noises might have been badgers! She says there are some in the field opposite.

I have cleaned all the fronts of the pens in the big shed to make way for the new hay for the girls OH cleared most of it down the shed for me then we got visitors and they have just gone so I thought I would get on here to fill you in on what happening today so far. I'll be back if anything happens.

What a challenge when your back is playing up!! If you don't take care you will end up unable to do anything, so be sensible Missus. I know that grit and determination mean you want to keep pushing past the pain barrier, but it is better to be some help than no help at all!! (I'm useless too, so I shouldn't really preach to others with a similar work ethic ) Hope they keep coming, but it is so ruddy cold, I know where I'd be staying - in the warm of a Mums belly!) x Tig

Just 2 have lambed today so a quiet day indeed but still lots of other things needed doing but I got some time off and went to the GC and took daughter as well for a ride. Little Rita has gone to another farm in Yorkshire as a friend wanted a lamb as one of his had died. Spot has hurt her leg probably with jumping around which she is always doing except today so tomorrow we will give her an injection to see if it helps her. I shall take some pics of the nursery pen and you can see just how much the earlier lambs are doing they have grown so much its a pity that the weather is not playing so that they could all be outside but we live in hope.

I will Missy I only have the one back ;D anyway this morning OH had a still birth and the Ewe had lots of milk so Spit and Spot have a new mum it will take a few days for the Ewe to accept them but I hope she does they deserve a mum. Today OH let lots of the older lambs out and they are in the field at the front/side of the house so its been nice seeing them outside at last. No more have lambed today but there has still been lots to do like bedding down the ones left in the shed and moving some into the nersery pen oh and I had to go and get a new washer seeing as the old one went pop on Saturday night with daughters washing in. thats it for now.

Thank you Sharon I do have to put the garden on hold if we are very busy which will be the end of March and all way through April when we could have up to 30 lambing a day. This morning there have been 4 births 1 has had to have help as the lambs head was back but OH managed to get the lad out alive and both are doing OK she is a first time mother and seems to be a very good one talking to her son. Today is bedding down day in all the sheds not looking forward to that again but it has to be done. I'll take the camera down later and take some shots for you all.

I didnt over do it Missy I only put down 1 pen. It was a busy day with 9 giving birth yesterday, this morning one has laid down on her lamb overnight so OH is ringing around to see if he can get another lamb for her if not then either Spit or Spot will be taken off to give to her. Forgot to take camera yesterday but will take it today. Only 1 has lambed overnight now I will get my boots on and go down to see what I can do to help, catch you all later.
