No lambs yesterday but there was lots to do as OH and No1 son decided to muck some of the pens out. We had visitors in the afternoon as a friend of ours fetched their 2 grandaughter up to look around the farm, 1 is 3 and the other is 7 so they where holding Spit and Spot and having their photo taken then they where going from shed to shed looking at all the sheep then onto the horses where the youngest was a bit scared seeing as they where soooo big, she was a right little chatter box till then. They live in South Wales and their mother died of Cancer just over 12 months ago. It was lovely to see the girls doing so well their dad is doing a great job fetching them up. Then another couple came with their grandson who was thrilled to bits with the lambs. Another friend rolled up with 2 Pink wooly dog coats for the orphans and insited on having a pic of them in them Spot was not happy about it at all but she got her pic and the coats are under the bench now she means well but Oh said there was no way he would let anyone outside see them in the coats as he would be the laughing stock of the area. This morning there has been 1 birth overnight. We have about 700 head of sheep Missy but not all of them will lamb I think there are about 12 which are barren out of the whole lot which is very good. Some of them may lose them giving birth but we shall have to see what happens in the coming weeks so its not a lot of them. Amber we are on the west side of the Saddleworth moors the M62 runs at the back of some of our land. It looks like it will be a slow day again I wish they would get on with it I think they need shaking up some to get them going. I dont think OH will try and get some lambing earlier next year as it is dragging and the season is long enough as it is. Barbara I have shouted Mint Sauce at them but it dont work they are still holding on to them.

Sounds like another eventful day at your farm Carol. How sad about the little ones loosing their Mother but great to hear they are doing well. I laughed when I read about the coats for the lambs, I'd love to have seen the pics.

Yep wild and woolie but it can also be beautiful when the sun shines. Busy day bedding down all the girls yesterday but no more lambs except that friend who we got Spit and Spot from rang up he had a Ewe who was very skinny and she had given birth to 2 lovely girls and didnt want anythiing to do with them so now I have 2 more babies to look after but they are on the bottle till later today when they will be introduced to the other 2. Not sure if any have lambed this morning as it was a midnight when I got to bed so I have had a little lie in this morning but the milk is warming for the 2 new ones so I will get down there and feed them shortly.

Welcome back A. we only had 1 lamb yesterday and I didnt put the new girls with the others as the smallest is not standing up very well yet and Ididnt want it to be on its own. Not been down yet to feed them as yesterday they both seemed to be still sleepy when I went to feed them so I'm leaving it a bit later this morning. OH has just come in saying that the one which sits up may be lambing so he has gone off again to check on it. I'm going to make breakfast so I'll be back later with another update for you all.

Thank you for the noms ladies. Today has been a very sad day here little Jo passed away during the night not sure why or anything but she didnt even have half of her normal milk last night and she was very shaky when I picked her up, OH said that her and her sister where Prem babies so she may have not formed inside properly but I did get a pic of her this is her sister she is OK but a little small so I have to feed her on the bottle to make sure she gets some milk in her, I cannot leave her on her own so I have put her in the pen with the other 2. There have been 2 births today and one was right old struggle as the lambs head was right back and OH had to get in there and pull it forward then he lost the feet but he got it out after 30mins and its OK and mother is licking it, not sure what sex it is yet. Well thats it for today.
