Aren't we! You may be surprised about what recovers though, even if it takes a while for things to get going again.

I hadn't noticed the tub, the flowers are so lovely, you don't notice anything else

I agree that it doesn't matter about the tub, it is the flowers that count. Years ago when money was tight I made the choice to use plastic tubs, anything really, as I wanted tubs galore and I couldn't afford both elegant ceramic tubs and tons of flowers...I am pleased that I did because I have had some wonderful flowers in anything that would hold soil...
All my veg is in incredibly ugly black containers...couldn't care a monkeys, it's the harvest and taste that matter!!

I'd not noticed the containers at all. Most of my stuff is in plastic containers I'm afraid, I could'nt afford to pay for expensive ones and they'd be too heavy for me to lift anyhow. So long as what's growing in them does ok I'm not at all bothered. If I had really nice pots they'd be stolen. We have things stolen from the gardens around home all the time.

The weight is a real argument LG - I have a large ceramic pot in the front garden and I can't shift it....all the others are wooded there - not so heavy at least and I am terrible for moving pots around..

I've got a mix of plastic, ceramic & terracotta (nothing fancy of expensive, I've unfortunately got LG's problem i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/rolleyes.gif ). I never bother to sort out the different ones, I just use whichever size I need for what I'm planting. I've got several the same as yours Carolann & find them very handy. I've got some new things just coming out i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif The first baby Daffs, these are always the first every year, I got them as part of an indoor arrangement years ago & they've multiplied ever since, they are really tiny, a bit smaller than a Dutch Crocus. Behind the Primrose you can just see the very first Pulmonaria opening. In the front is the first shoots of the Brunnera, poor think it kept coming up all Winter then getting cut back by frost, then having another go. Because I'm waiting to have some work done in the garden I've been forced to move all my pots together instead of having them all round the garden like I do most years. Does mean for some nice combinations though. Jillyx

My hellebores are looking pretty I wish you could grow them up high so we could eppreciate them better its marvellous how they are all different when they all came from the same parent this one was not of that plant though this Viburnum has flowered all winter but seems to just have opened up it is much brighter now, maybe because it will soon be gone the blue crocus has come out at last they yellow has all fallen over now this is the first of the hycinth to open Im patiently waiting for my daffs Ive just remembered I have one miniture clump out Ill have to put that on later.

That's really odd RF. It often happens if you plant daffs too late for them to get good roots going in autumn. I wonder if your slightly different winter weather has done that to them Talking about planting daffs to deep, where I re-did the front bank wall some of the lower bulbs are now under a good extra foot of soil and they've struggled through bless them. They are slightly shorter than they should be but not like yours RF.
