Looks beautiful with the Marigolds Tig, in fact it seems to go well with anything & such a wonderful perfume too. We actually had to build a prop for one side of mine last night, there are so many flowers on it at the moment that they were bowing down the branches.

I've had to stake both of mine too Jilly as the weight of the flowers was too much for it. Yours is doing great too Tig, are'nt we lucky.

I had to share the 1st of what I hope will be many blooms on Angelface Rose this morning. I think my 1st bloom did'nt open until July last year so this is very early but both bushes are full of buds. Unfortunately the greenfly have been at them already.

Beautiful Ladygardener, I agree about Roses being early this year, I've had quite a few out for over a week now, the first bud on my Angelface is just showing colour. Apart from the fabulous dark foliage I love how the flowers change colour with the weather conditions, yours looks quite pink in the pic but my bud is such a startling orange, you notice it from the house even though it's at the other end of the garden

Thanks very much Rosefriend Jilly for the noms. I love the foliage too, lovely shiny leaves with good resistance to black spot and overall a healthy rose. In reality it looks more peachy than what the picture shows but I too love how the flowers change colour depending on the weather etc...

Thanks for the noms Chuckles. Jilly, yours does look more peachy than mine but the beds on mine are really dark peach as well. Interestingly, all the buds that I have that are opening are on single stems while the groups of buds which are on longer stems are still maturing.

Mine too is outstanding this year and has already produced dozens of blooms and seems to be on it's 2nd flush now. I love the flowers even when they're in bud, they're so beautiful. My 2 are staying very healthy so far although growing much bigger than I remember them last year, no complaints 'tho.

I can't believe its almost 5 years since I got that knock on the door and postie delivered the very first Angel Face to the UK Jilly, Amber, Jasmine, Auricula, carolann, Rosefriend, Ladygardener, Tig, Mine is still going strong, how are yours. This year she has produced probably the best blooms I've had and my last two blooms are just going over now I still have her in a pot but raised it off the ground by about 2ft which has meant when I pass it going up the garden I get a reminder of her lovelt sweet perfume without having to squat down Curiosity got me this morning as to what was on the tinternet about her these days....... If you do a google image search loads of the pics come up and loads are from GWD and I came across this too www.growsonyou.com/spritzhenry/blog/17499-exciting

I must have a look at your link Chuckles, good to hear yours is doing well for you too. I can't believe we've had them that long. Best little Rose in my garden, mine has bloomed since before midsummer and is still producing flowers. I got 2 of them and this year I'll dig one up and give it to Jenny so she can join our little club too. Mine has mostly been disease resistant although the aphids loved the little buds peeking through earlier in the summer and it was a pain to have to keep squashing them. They disfigured some of the leaves as well but they recovered and gave lots of blooms. For me too, this has been the best year. I did add some very well rotted manure in springtime and also some rose food and added rose food again in July or so.

Wonderful rose - I have to say that Kordes really do have very healthy and lovely roses... My Angelface is still wonderful and flowering for the 3rd time this year - so many blooms... One thing that we must watch is that the Rose Angel Face is not our Angelface.... Angel Face written with two words is a USA bluey rose and nothing to do with our Angelface which is written in one word... RF

Mine had lots of blooms this year but she seems a bit top heavy with them all...when do I cut her back RF? I think it is too early and certainly too warm to cut back just yet... mine was a tad top heavy on the first blooms but once a few had fallen off the plant seemed to be happy enough... I would wait until cooler otherwise all that will happen is that it will start to grow back and the frost frosts will kill the new growth... RF

I've had a fantastic showing of blooms on my Angelface this year and am looking forward to her third batch of blooms in the not too distant future. I have been doing "mini prunings" when each head of flowers are spent, taking the stem back to the next bud on the main stem.....this keeps the shrub nice and compact, avoiding "bloom heavy" branches. I've been amazed how shiny the leaves are and not a spot of "BS" in sight......no aphids either!!

Mine is by far the healthiest rose in the garden, no blackspot, no aphids and beautifully glossy leaves. It hasn't stopped flowering since it started. I can't smell much of a scent though, could be due to my sinus problems

If anyone Ladygardener, Tig, Jilly, Chuckles, Amber, Missredhead, Jasmine, sees a rose called Summer Sun...see link..there are better pics though.. www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=88624...it is also a wonderful Kordes rose and Olaf gave it the name (Sommersonne in German) and his Mum baptised it (with champers) in 2010 at an official ceremony - we were there.... Like AF it is always healthy and has a wonderful form, the typical Kordes shiny leaves... RF

Yes it is a lovely Rose Rosefriend, but if I buy another Rose it will be the one on your Avatar. Chartreuse de Parma is a Delbard rose and there is no rose that I have ever smelt that is as good at this one...I suppose it all depends on your nose!!! It has won prizes in different countries for it's intensive scent. However it is the colour that I love as well...it is a biggish rose (100cm to 150cm) so needs to be possibly near the back of a border. I love it.. It has got a touch of BS this year but I can cope with that... RF

I have no real plans for a Rose at the moment but when I do, it'll be that one I'll go for. I like the idea of having that colour in the garden but it's that every description I've read of it has said the scent is wonderful.
