Two people thrown off last night, I didn't agree with one decision, I find myself disliking Paul Hollywood more each week.

The new series ''world on fire'' started last night, it looks OK.

We watched World on Fire and thought that it was ok...early days. I watched a couple of programmes about Ancient Egypt on channels 4 and 5 recently, they were quite good...and of course Graham Nortin is back on...sometimes awful but often hilarious.
We don't watch Strictly so the TV has been off or we've had Netflix on...the terrestrial channels don't seem to bother when such a popular show is on.

GBBO I love pies, but they were something else, imagine making all those decorations out of pastry, I make leaves and that's my best shot.

The pies did look great but from the sounds of things, they did'nt taste good. I did think it was a very difficult task this week.

Why oh why do the BBC say a series is 6 weeks long, then at the end of 6 weeks say ''to be continued'' I don't think I would have bothered to watch had I known world on fire was one of these going on for ever programmes.

We're enjoying His Dark Materials on the beeb much more than the Nicole Kidman film. Loved all the Philip Pullman books anyway. The BBC have also put an interesting twist on their production of War of the Words having a female lead...its a big production anyway...very glossy.

We're watching his dark materials as well, so much to cram into a film, much better this way, Derek loves the repair shop, I watch if it's on sort of thing.

I agree...Glenda is a very talented actress...splendid production. We have been watching a DVD of The Orville series 2....lovely show, an affectionate parody of Star Trek with Seth Macfarlan of American Dad fame....really enjoyed it. Only trouble being that Jeff just CANNOT leave it at one or two episodes over a few weeks... we watched all 14 in 5 days...that was me insisting we took it 'slowly'

Netflix. Lost in Space series 2. Did start watching The Crown but I've not warmed to the new cast. The Aberfan episode was moving...but that's the last one we watched. The chap playing Harold Wilson is good tho... The beeb will be screening Good Omens from mid January goodo.

You really enjoy that don't you Ladygardener? I am looking forward to CTM, it started last week. I really enjoyed watching now I've seen where it is filmed.

Yes Jasmine, although it was very slow last week and will be this week too but once they are all dancing it will be grand. Enjoy call the midwife. Dancing with the stars Ireland started last Sunday and I love it. It's only available on RTE which is an Irish channel.

I don't really know who's on it Ladygardener but I spotted the lady who plays Beth on Corrie. Perhaps I should tune in and see, I'd like to see her skate. Enjoy DWTS, can you watch it in NI or do you have to be at Jenny's to get it? I'm wondering if CTM has had it's day - it's hard to describe but because they are covering things historically the characters seem to be explaining things more that you wouldn't have in a natural conversation so it sounds a little forced.

Yes I get RTE1 and 2 with the package I get from VM. Jasmine, I know what you mean about CTM having explain things. I sometimes think some of the American shows we watch go on for a few series too long but that's because the storylines are silly or have been done before.
