We have been watching Wisting on BBC 4, it's subtitled but that's OK for Dec. anyway.

I just let CTM wash over me, I know it's not anything special but it's relaxing.

Good omens starts tonight on BBC2, Derek assures me it's comical, I'll watch it with him and see.

I ave seen the omen, Derek reads pratchet books but not this series.

I see that Sandi Toksvig is leaving The Great British Bake Off after the celebrity stand up to cancer airs in springtime. I enjoyed her on the show and it doesn't seem like 3 years since Mary Berry left and it moved to channel 4.

I used to love it when Sandi was in the chair on The News Quiz on radio 4...especially when Jeremy Hardy was on too. Miles Jupp and Nish Kumar haven't been able to live up to Sandi's standards imo.

Did anyone watch the programme about the 'super yachts' last night, how the other half live.

I've not seen it Barbara, but there's a new series on Sky from today called COBRA. It's a political thriller with Robert Carlyle and looks good.

I watched that last night Ladygardener, I'll see where it leads before I pass judgment.

Yes we've watched 2 episodes last night Barbara, we thought parts just didn't ring true but we'll see one more episode and decide.

It has a terrible write up from the critics in the papers Ladygardener,.

A new programme is being shown soon called ''the Windermere children'', it's about the children rescued from concentration camps in WW2 and flown to the lakes to be cared for, how they went on to live over here and make new lives, sounds interesting if sad.

[Ladygardener]

I'm not surprised it gets a bad write up Barbara, I don't think I'll continue watching it. That programme does sound very sad, I can't bear to watch shows with children in them.

I'll watch it and tell you about it then Ladygardener , one of them became a dentist, he was still working in his 80's. one thought he'd lost all his family until his brother rode up to him on a motorbike, I love a good cry

Last night programme on the  billionaire John Cauldwell having a house in Mayfair done up showed 2 things, money doesn't buy good taste, and a man who needs to sort out himself out,  it disgusted me the amount of money he spent on it, 68 million on top of the amount he paid for the house in the first place.

I saw a bit of that Barbara...it was the bit about the 'tree' that he wanted in the house...looked like a glass blob when they showed the picscof the idea.....I gave up after that as the blonde lady who was trying to 'sell' him the idea drove me mad with her hands flapping around everywhere....as you say he has much more money that taste...

Yes Missredhead, she was annoying, everyone on the bloody programme annoyed me one way and another, just think how many people he could have housed with that money, the cheeky bggr getting other folk to buy wheelchairs.

Celebrity Bake Off, stand up to cancer starts tuesday night 8pm channel 4.

Has anyone watched the 2 episodes of McDonald and Dobbs that have been on so far, the police show set in Bath. I think it's quite clever how the characters are being developed and it's great seeing Bath being used as a setting for a show. Nathan's ex-council estate was used as the place where the less well off member of the focus family in the first show lived. The other siblings lived in that lovely crescent of beautiful houses!  I hope they are going to make more.

No I've not see it Jasmine but it's always of interest when you know the area a bit is'nt it.

I'm sure they used the hotel we stayed in Ladygardener, and just stuck a sign over the real sign!

I watched it Jasmine.....think it might take me a while to warm to McDonald...I like Dodds though....😁
He reminds me a bit of Columbo 😂

I love his character Missy - little bits keep coming out to build a bigger picture. Same with her but she is quite a hard character although she is a woman trying to make it in what is still a very male dominated world. The Super is like some sort of cartoon character! Dobbs is quietly smart!

Dobbs is lovely....I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a comedy at first but now am sure it's not although it is quite comical in parts...

Yes, he is Missy, I think they are all brilliant characters, even the Inspector who is completely up himself and needs a good slap!

Alan and I are working our way through series 1 of Call the Midwife. There were some brilliant episodes in the first series and Miranda Hart was in it too.

We're now on Series 2 of CTM now.

Alan has been watching The Good Karma Hospital for a while but I started watching it this week, I really enjoyed it.

I watched a few GKH a while back..is Amanda Redman still in it ?

I loved CTM when Miranda was in it...good old Chummy 😁

Yes Missy, Amanda Redman is still in it. Just waiting for it to start but listening to the Queen first.
