I've been offline and just saw this. Hoping all is pulled back together soon.

Thanks! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif Richard has already been down this evening and measured how many rolls of wallpaper we have to order - so we'll do that tomorrow. He's going to contact the floor people, and they'll come during the next few days to measure up and start work when they can - probably next weekend.

Hope it really does go smoothly!

So pleased Geranium - one thing's for sure, autumn and winter 2012 will not be forgotten in a hurry... Thankfully you are insured - my heart goes out to those that aren't fully insured - it must be even more of a nightmare wondering where the money is coming from...

We can't get insurance for flood damage G, perhaps they can't either

You could be right, Auricula. We were very relieved when our Policy renewal notice arrived this week - although the premium has gone up, they're still covering us for flood damage. Are you in a flood area? It's all systems go this week - most things are in place now for renovation to begin. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif

No, but our house flooded when there was a fallen tree across the stream ( before we moved in but when we owned the house)

I am in 'frustration' mode. We collected the wallpaper from Glastonbury this morning, and popped into B&Q to get a match pot as the paint colour in the kitchen isn't quite right. Richard came to show us his quote, BUT we'd had an e-mail from a new Loss Adjuster telling us he wants TWO quotes! The previous one advised us to find a local person we trusted, and we did that. If the new LA insists on two quotes, we'll lose Richard because he has other jobs lined up. The other frustration is still Kenwood Chefs. I looked at the Exeter J. Lewis site, and it definitely says they have 10 in stock. As we have to go to Exeter to pick up floor tiles, we could do both in one trip. However, OH rang the branch and do they actually have them in stock? NOPE. Why can't these sites be more store-specific? Can you hear me screaming? I;m sure you can persuade him otherwise i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/tongue.gif

Well, the Ins. Co. has been so helpful up to now - maybe he hasn't read the file he inherited from the previous LA. Apparently, his case-load was too heavy, so they shared the cases out more fairly. I think it'll be all right, as they had advised us to find a reputable local firm to do the work - which we did. Sorry about my rant - I had a bad day. The thought of more delays was awful.

Thanks, Dutchy. This snowy weather won't help, unfortunately. Nothing's moving out there! (Except tractors.)

Snow is not good when you want to start and work on things. Another test of your patience. In the end things will be fine but I sure understand you would want it yesterday rather than someday soon.
