A few of us have bought seeds and plants from sellers on Ebay. As Ebay buying is a bit different to purchasing from large, well-known plant companies I thought a separate thread on good and bad (hopefully none of those) buys would be helpful as otherwise recommended sellers may get lost amongst the 'Confess' thread! This is Stepehn Roff's shop... stores.ebay.co.uk/k-and-r-replicas-oaktree-nurseries?_trksid=p2047675.l2563Auricula and I have used him. If you are close to Sandhurst, Kent you can save yourself the P+P as he is happy for you to collect plants. I've just noticed he's got Magnolia Sieboldii for sale!

Great idea for a thread Jasmine, I keep being tempted by e-bay but haven't bought anything yet, I think because the selection is so huge, I don't know where to start, so it's useful to be pointed in the right direction.

Ditto for the thread idea Jasmine. I've never bought off ebay but I remember jean mentioning on Gdn Chat thread one she used Its a lovely plant LG but £10 Yes I do use ebay for something a bit different and its quite easy to get seeds from other countries. I've had some lovely plants from a UK seller that I wouldn't have been able to get from anywhere else Have a look at Just Perennial Plants stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/JUST-PERENNIAL-PLANTS__W0QQ_armrsZ1

You have an amazing memory for details Chuckles! I think sometimes it's a worry when you're buying from who knows who, from who knows where, but I've only ever had to use Ebay's resolution centre once and that was over a PS3 controller. I think they give rubbish sellers far too much slack but I got my money back in the end. The idea for the thread came from some plug plants I bought yesterday from this seller... stores.ebay.co.uk/BIG-SKY-PLANTS?_trksid=p2047675.l2563She is offering 6 jumbo plugs for £3 P+P. Ebay can't deal with reduced postage so my order came up as £14 something for plants and £15 for P+P. I contacted the seller straight away but heard nothing, then she emailed this morning to say she was really sorry but Ebay did the P+P calculations and she would refund me £12 straight away. I really do think most sellers want you to be happy. I'll let you know about the plants when I get them!

You have an amazing memory for details Chuckles! Well Jasmine I have to confess to only remembering Jean mentioning them, I couldn't remember the sellers name or where the post was, I used the board search function to look for posts including the word ebay and posted by jean

Sellers I've used are Starfish**1 good sized mature Aster Little Carlow janelanenursery secretorchardproduce staffsmoorplants I can't remember what I ordered from them but I've never had bad service or plants from any of the ebayers I've used and most if not all of them are ones with a gold medal.

Yes Jasmine I think so, the P+P was £5 something but I did'nt care to be honest. It arrived not in the usual box it comes in but just the plastic containers.

Did it still have its instructions and was it obvious that it was the right thing Ladygardener?

Well the instructions are on the back of the bottle Jasmine and there was tape all along the little measuring top which I guess was to prevent any chance of it leaking in transit. When I took the tape off the seal was intact and when I opened it it looks and smells like the real thing so I guess I'm pleased enough with it. Of course the real test will be if it prevents the vine weevel and lilly beetle this year.

Well....they're nice little plants - little being the word even though they're called jumbo plug plants - and I only got 5 instead of 6. The Verbascum Lavender Lass is missing out of the order. Not sure I'd recommend Big Sky Plants after the P+P mess up and this even though they have 100% positive feed back. I've emailed - we'll see what happens.

I'm so cross now Ladygardener. I absolutely would not buy from this seller again. She hasn't even bothered to answer my message about the plant being missed out of the parcel so as soon as I can I'm going to refer the missing plant to the resolution centre. This is where Ebay is really frustrating as they won't let you do anything for a while - you have to work things out with the seller - hard if they won't answer your messages.

Oh Jasmine I'd be raging too if it was me. They won't be getting a gold starr that's for sure. How rude 'tho not to even answer the email, would'nt you think she'd be wanting a good feedback.

She's a power seller too! I sent another message about an hour ago saying I was going to the resolution centre as soon as I was allowed if I didn't hear back from her and I got a message almost straight back saying she was on the road in North Wales, reception wasn't good and she was a single Mum of 3 children Plant being dispatched on Tuesday apparently - we'll see. Won't be buying from her again.

she was on the road in North Wales, reception wasn't good and she was a single Mum of 3 children With the best will in the world, I can't see how that's relevant. This is why I'm so glad you started this thread Jasmine, the one thing that has always put me off e-bay is not knowing who I'm buying from (say's she who happily buys from T&M knowing full well what they're like )
