Oh dear indeed Ladygardener, my first list came to over £70, I have cut it down a bit since then.

Jilly it's so easy to build up a big list when you see lots of lovely things is'nt it.

Oh dear I've found him. Jilly - if you just do your order and check out through Paypal Stephen Roff will refund your P+P after he has put your parcel together. You just have to gulp a bit as your order and P+P come to nearly the same amount but it all gets sorted in the end. You could always do a 'Contact seller' and make out you don't know about the postage recalculations so he gets back to you and actually confirms what he does in writing!

I've succumbed, I only (only ) ordered 4 white & pale blue hardy geraniums, because you know I haven't got enough plants already to find homes for, & I did have an e-bay voucher

Very restrained Jilly I'm intrigued - where do you get an Ebay voucher from? These are my plants from Stephen Roff... They have all been potted on since their arrival last night.

I think it was because I created an account on e-bay then didn't use it for a couple of weeks Jasmine, it was £5 off any purchase. Those plants look lovely & healthy, what did you get, or have you already confessed.

They are...
Prunus Kojo-no-mai - 2 pots back on the left, Stewartia pseudocamellia 2 pots back and 2 pots in from the left
Philadelphus 'Lemoinei' - front left, Geranium Lilac Ice, Geranium Double Jewel and 2 Francoas (I only ordered 1 but he sent 2 as he said they hadn't overwintered well.)
The few bits of negative feedback he seems to have are from buyers who weren't happy with getting a half dead looking plant when things are dormant or just breaking dormancy.

I imagine that must be a problem for most growers if they're selling to people who are new to gardening & used to seeing pristine plants in the GC's Jasmine. I got one called Diamond Star from Hayloft when I got a double Geranium collection to share with Mum, when you google it it looks exactly the same as Double Jewel so I now want to call it Double Diamond (but that was a type of beer wasn't it ) I went for Derrick Cook, Karen Wootens, Silver Queen & Blue Cloud.

Did you find Derrick Cook on Stephen's site Jilly - I've seen it on Haylofts and it is gorgeous! Oh, maybe it was Diamond Star now you come to mention it...or Double Diamond It was a beer - do you remember Oranjiboom as well (sp )

Absolutely Jilly - you do get a few weeds and bits of moss for free too so pristine is not in it. Actually there is nothing pristine about his nursery at all!

I'd seen it first on Hayloft Jasmine, so when I saw it on Stephens site (at about half the price) I thought it was fate. Just googled again & I'm sure Diamond Star & Double Jewel are the same plant & yes I do remember Orangie whatsit, actually I'm old enough to remember Red barrel & party sevens

Recalculating the postage occurs if you buy multiple items from the same seller I always pay by PayPal

I have just bought 100 6.6cm square, black, plastic pots from
beechtree1944
I ordered them just before lunch and I have just had a message to say they have been dispatched!
They were £2.45 and P+P was slightly more at £3.50! Still cheaper than the ones I found at the outlet store last w/e though even with P+P!

That's a really good deal Jasmine, I think OH would faint clean away if I bought more pots though , although square pots make such a difference if you're trying to fit loads of things in together. Luckily the GC over the road tends to agree & sell most of their stuff in square pots (which is handy)

Those little 6cm'ish square pots are brilliant Jilly - you can fit so many in seed tray. After finding some in the outlet store (but paying £1.50 for 10) I knew they'd be ideal for the 100 cosmos seedlings that need potting on!!!

They've just arrived Auricula & they're lovely. Unfortunately so they should be, as I haven't had the postage recalculated so I actually paid double for them . I've e-mailed Stephen to see if it was an oversight, I'm not sure though as they came by 24 hour courier instead of by post, although even then I think £13 is a bit steep for postage.

OOH!! That's surely not correct He's always recalculated for me in the past.........get onto him

Well I certainly won't be getting any more plants from e-bay if it was right Auricula, OH has already told me that. I can't help thinking that it was probably me doing something wrong with my order, think this is why I stopped using e-bay before, it's all so confusing, when I say I e-mailed Stephen, the only way I could do it was through the site & it looks like I'm asking about another plant, so he's going to have no idea which order I'm talking about

It's not confusing Jilly if a numpty like me ( and a poor OAP to boot ) can do it, then a young go ahead administrator like you should have no probs Ebay / PayPal = simples

Post by Jilly on Apr 25, 2013 10:36:38 GMT
It's only confusing because I've not done it before Auricula, it's like anything I just need to practice , so I need to keep making purchases ;)I've just replaced a discontinued eye shadow that I was after for half price. I've just linked my E-bay account to my Pay Pal account, so now it's just one click..... . The plants from Stephen were in really great condition when they arrived, but now even after just being potted on for a couple of days, they're romping away

Glad you got the P+P sorted out Jilly. Stephen Roff refunded mine but I didn't get a notification on Ebay so it wasn't til I checked Paypal that I saw he'd refunded a big chunk of the P+P. He adds new stuff to his Ebay shop regularly and has some very nice hellebores at the moment including an apricot one!
