What a beautiful place you are wanting to create for other people's enjoyment. I can't wait to see all those daffs in flower and to see how you manage to progress your plans. You are obviously very passionate about what you do, it is such a shame that a minor few have to try and spoil it for you and everyone else. Very petty and selfish. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more updates. Happy gardening andy,

I took my friend for a walk round today andy, and she thought it looked amazing (she's not from Brighton) and the last time she'd seen it was years ago before you'd done any of the new planting. I can confirm that all those baby Daffodils looks spectacular now, even if they were being battered by gale force winds (that's why I didn't take any photos). The one thing that my friend just couldn't believe, is that just one person (with a few volunteers) does it all.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Im getting some great feedback at the moment. One member of public told me he'd been going to the garden for the past 40 years and it's the best he's ever seen it.
A good friend of mine, who used to work in the garden as a trainee 35 years ago told me on facebook last night that it looked "breathtaking".
One thing that people can't appreciate from their cars is the scent....it's intoxicating with all the jonquilla daffs, hyacinths and mahonia.
However, onwards and upwards, there's still a lot of gaps where more bulbs will hopefully be added this autumn.

Thanks RF, haven't forgotten about the video, just need something to record it on.
Two lots of daffs...the close-ish up photo is of Cheerfulness and the large group going round the path is Jonquilla sugarbush.
Me and the boss have just been discussing the bulbs for this autumn.....looks like another 50,000 at least will be going in. The newly planted areas (first 2 photos) are going to have 3 varieties in....Tete-a-tete, Jonquilla Pueblo and yellow cheerfullness and the boss was talking about cramming them in at 300 bulbs per M2 !!!!!!!!!!
Heeeeeeelllllllllllllllpppppppppppp

OK - you are going to have to explain that to me - 300 per square metre - how do they grow on or do you bin them afterwards? If you leave them in, only half will flower the next year, - won't they ??

3 foot x 3 foot square = 1m2 (approx) Cram 300 bulbs into that square.
We leave them in and try to give them a good feed so most will flower again next spring. They're allowed to die down naturally and then the herbaceous take over
