Those wallflower are making a real splash in the flower bed are'nt they Barbara, I love them. I love it when the scent reaches you from the other side of the garden on a mild day. I would'nt want my spring garden not to have them.

Self sown Daffs at my Mum's today And in my garden, had to treat myself to a few more Pulsatillas as the ones in the beds don't look much like flowering this year. They self sow for my Mum (not jealous at all )

What a smashing display in your Mum's garden Jilly. I think we're all a little bit jealous and with good reason. Those Pulsatilla are such a wonderful colour.

A few more spring things from me... Tulip Van Tubergen's Variety - never seen anything quite so red - it almost hurts your eyes! And...our little B&Q rhododendron is out!

Part 2 - PB is being rubbish! Tulip Yokohama - there should be some Orange Princess in with them too but as my tulips seem to be doing their own thing this year they don't seem to be making an appearance!

Love the yellow tulips with the muscari Jasmine, not sure but I think it's more striking without the orange . A few tulips from me, some are in pots, but I've been lucky & had quite a few come back in the beds too. Bruine Wimple One of the lovely cream doubles that were a freebie from Suttons. Snow Parrot This one comes out in the front garden every year, it must be a mutation from one of the others as I'm sure I'd remember buying it. Hamilton, of all tulips I've planted out after having them in pots, this is the one that comes back the best, these have been in for about 2 years.

Lovely tulips Jilly - where did you get Snow Parrot from - it's a really hard tulip to find. I think you're right about the Orange Princess - glad they were a no show!

They were from SR Jasmine, glad they came up as the right ones or else I'd have not been happy seeing as I was rather extravagant & bought 30 of them, I always used to get them from Avon but they've stopped doing them for the past few years. I did e-mail Chris about them as they were their introduction & he said they stopped doing them because they don't come back the following year (& he's right they don't ,) apart from the ones I gave Mum she still gets a few come up each year.

Our town council have done a great job this year on the flower beds in the centre of town. The smell as you walk past is just amazing!

This picture is lovely theinsidegardener - I especially like the 2 rogue pink tulips in the colour scheme! That happens so often and they look so proud being different!

I know, I loved that about it too Jasmine, maybe they bought the bulbs from a certain well known online site Here's another angle of the area, I am so impressed with the council, every roundabout and junction is full of lovely displays. Might go take some more pics later of the others. They normally do a good job but this year they really seem to be making a huge effort.

I love the forget me nots all around as well and I'm sure the Wallflowers smell delicious. I have yet to see a ladybird in my wildlife friendly garden, shame I did'nt take some with me when I was coming home .

Still no ladybirds in my garden but I have seen some greenfly nibbling the rose leaves. Here are a few spring flowers from me. These I grew from seed and overwintered in the ground outside. Little Red Riding Hood. Sir Winston Churchill, the smell is wonderful. These originally came from carolann. Underneath them is a Hosta but I like to make good use of my pots. I have loads of Wallflowers around the garden making a wonderful scent but these are so delicate a colour I just had to take a pic.

What a striking colour Ladygardener! from me! The wallflower is pretty too. Do your Red Riding Hoods come up every year? I planted some in the school garden but if they do come back we will be missing them.

Thanks very much for the noms Jasmine theinsidegardener, it's such a simple little plant but it stands out so well because of it's colour. I grow them pretty much every year. Unfortunately the catterpillars love them too. Jasmine, those Red Riding Hood were bought new this year so I don't know if they'll come back or not. I hope they do but I'll enjoy them while I can.
