I know it'll be months before it all starts again but the news this week was that Janette Manrara will take over from Zoe Ball on this year's It Takes Two. She and Rylan Clark-Neal will co-present.

I did'nt know that Barbara, good for her. Jasmine, I think she'll be good on ITT, she knows all the dancers and seems to be very bubbly and of course knowledgeable about the dances without it being forced. You won't have to worry about driving home soon  I wonder if they will have someone do a segment instead of Ian Waite as he has left as well. |

Strictly related, Tokyo Paralympics: Lauren Steadman wins gold at Paralympics. She upgraded the PT4 silver she won in Rio five years ago to PTS5 gold with a finish of 1:04:46, 41 seconds clear of American Grace Norman. Fabulous win.

We all really enjoyed the show last night and are happy with all the pairings. I think it was one of the best launch shows for a number of years. I like how it was'nt everyone standing in rows then getting picked out. It's always good to see them all in their "ordinary" clothes instead of being all dressed up. It was great to be able to watch something light hearted and glittery and fun. Great that the live shows start next week, there's usually a gap between them and the launch so it's a real bonus. That's our saturday nights taken care of for the next couple of months.  |

I agree Ladygardener, I prefer this way of matching up the pairs and although you can see they are being covid safe (as they can be) the show was great fun. Glad Hannah was able to join the party! Love how well they have included Rose - what fun to be her interpreter! |

What a brilliant first night. Just read a write up on the show on FB and Motsi was described as a green highlighter and Ugo as a pink one! There were some amazing dances!

I agree, it was a smashing start and everyone impressed me for various reasons. I thought Motsi's dress was one of the nicest I've seen her in for some time. I loved John and Johannes tango and was amazed at how Rose can keep in time while not being able to hear the music, she has a wonderful personality from what I've seen and fair play to Giovanni learning some signing. While he was never someone I enjoyed dancing, I think Anton did fine as a judge.
We've already seen Kai in action as he was part of the Dancing With The Stars in Ireland but I loved his jive with AJ, she has so much energy.

Oh dear, Tom and Amy both have Covid so won't be in next week's show. I thought Rose was brilliant too Ladygardener, and John and Johannes! I thought the scoring was a bit all over the place and sometimes didn't seem to go with the comments but it was a great show. |
