PML! I'm the same with the latin names!!! As for the black things, most of them can cope with some shade I think otherwise they wouldn't be in my garden!!! I'm not sure about just evening sun though. Perhaps you need to invent a rotating garden - plant the black leaved things in containers and put them on a movable shelf type thingy that you can move in and out of the sun!!!!!

That's a lovely piccie Piggin - never buy these cos the smell of chokky sends me mad Anyone see the small Black Dhalias out in the garden centres called Dracula - I was tempted as they are very different but then I was a little scared, cos of the name - and Halloween coming up too

Yoooo hooo beanie, whats gone wrong I can't see your photo and you were doing so well. Did you manage to print off the photo instructions in How To If plocket has seen the photo and I now can't it normally means you have maybe deleted it or moved it into another album, either of these actions will unfortunately break the IMG Code link that you originally posted and the photograph won't be visisble anymore I want to see your black flower too

RF thinks it's because Beanie has moved it - I can see it because I haven't cleaned my cache (or something)

hi chuckles I've put the photo back in the album, i didn't realise that if I deleted it from the album that it wouldn't be visible on the website. I'm learning the hard way, so it should stick in my head better

WOW, thats fabulous - how do you manage to get that many heads on it? We have a couple and only have two heads on one and a single head on the other one (a baby off the other one) I really like them but am a bit fed up cos the stems have gone curly and I dont know how to get more heads on it

Thank you for the votes. I guess my timing was good, I hope they recover a little after the battering, most are still buds.

My black tulips are a disaster this year. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but they never seem to do well the year (or more) after. Any tips?

Sorry P, cant offer you any advice. I'm pretty lame with bulbs - they have to get on with it or they're doomed I'm late again looking in but just want to say Amo, that is a real beauty. Hope they've all recovered?
