Thanks ladies, they are so dark they are very easy to miss! My Grand-daughter has been walking round sniffing things this afternoon, she was quite taken with the scent of those x Tig

It's lovely JW, it would really stand out beside a yellow or orange, or even a bright pink would'nt it.

Not a flower, but it is a rosette of sorts - thought I'd killed these by putting them out to soon but they've recovered nicely x Tig

Perhaps you kept yours too damp Auricula, I think they prefer to be almost bone dry during the colder months. You could have taken cuttings from any hard bits of stem though Jilly I shall be tempted to try cuttings if mine start to branch, from what I've read they are quite easy to get growing. The 'secret' seems to lie in letting the 'root' end of the cutting callous over by leaving it to air dry for about 3 days before it goes into coarse gritty compost. I read a suggestion that you use a marker pen to put arrows on any stem cuttings so you always get them in the right way up I could have hundreds growing if I get the hang of it ;D x Tig

This is salpiglossis black trumpet - grown from seed this year and doing very well now despite earlier reservations that they would come to nothing (you can tell it's been raining today )

Notice this thread hasn't been used for a while, I suppose I could put these 2 in purple but in a certain light they almost get away with being black. Dahlias Sam Hopkins and Soulman
