Thanks all. I was surprised how well the picture came out. - I've got a new camera, So every time I go out I take it with me. I haven't got the full hang of it yet but it seems very good on macro shots.

I had some black pansies but I left them at the last house. I actually put them to one side in a pot and completely forgot about them and because of the dark flowers, I didn't notice them at the side of the lawn.
One of my tulips is out now but the QOTN ones have gone very tall and gangly....

Of course they count, and they are lovely Welshy! Are they Queen of the Night? I'm hoping mine will flower in the next few days if the fine weather continues.

Hum. I don't think it's you Welshy - I think it's the focus on your camera. You need to get it focused on the tulip and not on your fern!

I've just had a thought Welshy - when you are taking photos, can you "pre click" to see where the focus is? I get a little box in the window so I can see what the camera is focusing on. If it isn't right I move the camera a little, get the box around the flower I want to photograph, and then move the camera back into place to take the photo. I hope that makes sense!!!

I find I have the same problem with my camera but then again it was born as a phone and taking pictures is not its forte. I pre click to get the bit I want sharp but somehow it won't accept my focussing on other bits hmmm. Oh well here is my QoN tulip. p.s. love that black parrot tulip. You have a real nice collection of tulips Plocket.

It's growing Dutchy - more for OH because he decided he liked them so much Is it me or do the Queen of the Night and Black Parrot ones get darker in the sunshine?
|
|
|
Post by Dutchy on Apr 29, 2007 18:29:41 GMT
I think they get darker after being open for more than one day. This is what my QoN look like now. Somehow there is more purple in it and less red. ( the two on the outside which have been open longer) Thus making them look darker. Just like some tulips grow more mellow over the days or simply more pale.
