I have seen many butterflies on my Buddleja - I bought it for that reason and not seen any on the other Buddleja that are self seeded I think big mistake tho to plant a Lavatera in my garden close to my arbour cos there are just so many bees on it - too close for comfort

That is rather a lovely Tortoiseshell Tig. I wonder if it's a new one? If so I hope it survives the Winter to go forth and multiply in the Spring.

Lovely, lovely, lovely is all I can say. I think we need a monarch in the parade though, so here's one.

You lucky thing Rita - I hope they recover for next year, we have hardly had any around here! Not seen one painted lady or small copper this year, only a couple of commas and red admirals, plenty of blasted cabbage whites though x Tig

Lovely Rita: nice variety. I've had mainly monarchs around this year, and a small yellow/white one. Occasionally something diferent would come by but doesn't stay around very long. I've been putting as many different kinds of blooms as I can find room for to encourage more varietiesto hang around so we'll see next season.
