Not much been happening with the project while this weather has been sooooo crap I have managed to tidy up a bit and am getting a better feel now for the size of the area though, and how it will be. Discussions atm are how much light we can get in the new shed so it will be more like a summer house affair than a shed I can probably paint a better picture now of how it will look. The existing shed will be no more and the new one will take up a bigger area, approx 10.5 sqm. The length of wood on bricks shows how much bigger it will be. There will be French doors wjere that length of wood is on bricks, they will be facing north towards the current trellised area, the glass from a double glazed patio door is being built into the wooden stucture for a large window that will face east, great for morning sun. The roof will be double pitch rather than the original single so we may put the other patio door glass we have in the side of the roof that will face west to get midday sun. Unfortunately the sides of the shed that face south and west are blanked by the house and a fencing so I'm having to be quite cute with getting light in. Plans atm are that OH is going to be on site 17/2 to start the job proper ;D

Update on progress over the last 3 days ;D Have spent almost a day and a half trying to untangle a Honeysuckle, 2 summer flowering Jasmines one white and the other white with a pink tinge, a Clem Balearica that were all growing over the the wooden sturcture and through an Iceburg climbing Rose and Rambling Rector. I've had to cut most of the Clem off P so fingers crossed it survives, some odd bits of grow are left and these are newer bits so fingers crossed. My main problem was they all had growth of between 10ft and 15ft Some bits, well quite a lot had to be chopped off because of breakage and one of the Jasmine has had to be dug up unfortunately as it was growing right where the pathway through will be. I've dug as much of the root up as possible and put it in a huge plastic tub with some fresh compo and given a good water and feed. If it produces leaves I'm onto a winner, if it doesn't I'll chop it back to about 4ft and pray I actually found 2 other roses growing which I thought had popped their cloggs, one is Golden Shower but I can't remember what the other is now, hope they both flourish now The trellis got tackled yesterday, this was 2 big sections and had to be tackled with the saw ;D I've taken the middle 3rd of it out, which left me with 2 pieces with no down right piece down one side so I've taken them to pieces and rebuilt them. These can be reused elsewhere in the garden now. I love getting the hammer and nails out, very satisfying ;D I've made 5 trips up to the bonfire with huge bundles of trimmings which I could hardly carry. The bonfire is now a good 5ft high and as wide too can't wait to light that ;D The area in front of the trellis had pots of Hostas and Ferns on it and also had a few plants and bulbs in the ground so I've had to dig those out and pot them up or find new homes for them, Lily of the Valley, Campanula, Alcamilla Mollis and a few other bits. Last job on the project this afternoon was to sweep all up so I can have a fresh view of it tomorrow and plan whats next. I'll get a photo tomorrow

Oh goodie goodie. Don't you just love it when things get into the phase where you can begin building the new things. Using a glass setting in the roof sounds good but if the panes are at an angle wont the old window rot faster? Perhaps you might use those special roof bits that let the light through but are frosted so no one can see in? On the other hand those are not exactly pretty. Looking for ward to your new pics ;D

So, we looked like this before I got the saw and snips and spade out ;D Now we look like this, the pavers have just been dropped in so I can walk through without going on the soil. The plan is the sides of the path will be pavers on thier ends and the garden either side will be filled up. I might pop some young Lavenders I have either side of the path. The right hand post where the spade is leaned up against I'm planning on maybe planting a Wisteria, it's currently in the pot behind the post. Not sure yet, I change my mind daily ;D Dutchy, I'm leaving all the detail of construction to OH, he will sort it, well I'll supervise ;D. We were going to use 3 lovely double glazed leaded window units but I've said no because I want it to be like I'm in the garden when sat in there so big panes of clear glass are a must in the roof and on the side. I'm getting quite excited now, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday they will start. Current customer has added extras to the job he's on

Wow the shed is gone and things look like they are ready for progress. Queing up behind Amo in this No the sheds not gone yet Dutchy it does look like it though ;D it was a bad photo the sun was shining at me when I took it. Fingers crossed the boy's start on Tuesday and it will be gone then. Once the shed had gone we have a load of Ivy of various sorts to remove from the house side of the old shed, it has started to crawl over the flat roof of the extension

OH will definately be here tomorrow afternoon. First job he's going to do is sort all the wood out that he needs to build the new shed, I must stop calling it a shed it's a summer house, no it's Chuckles house ;D Not looking forward to tackling that ivy at all, there'll be loads of spiders in it and I have seen rats up on the flat roof on occasions think I'll let the boys do that job, I'll be tea lady ;D I think my inner age of 18yrs old is kicking in, I'm sooooo excited maybe I mean 8yrs old

It was the gallons of mugs of tea that they drank that kept them moving and warm too, it was perishingly cold. Ooooh they don't hang about, well OH doesn't but nephew dawdles about if he gets the chance OH cracks the whip though. The space does seems enormous now the shed is gone. It was quite sad to see it go, we built it about 25 yrs ago and it seems like only yesterday really. The Ivy has gone, it was a bitch. 2/3rds of the pavers are up aswell and the two old low brick walls are out and bricks all cleaned, concrete blocks are in place ready for building tomorrow and facing with bricks. I left it late today to get any more pics. OH will build the wooden frame tomorrow too and that will be put in place and also he'll poly the floors which will be insulated then wooden flooring will be laid at some point. I'll post pics again on tomorrows progress.

Yay a shed with indoor swimming pool. Good thinking and when can I come and visit ? No seriously your workers are making good progress. Even if the Ivy seems to be there on the house still . Funny how I never realized how low a building your shed was until I saw the demolition master standing next to it ;D

Ooooh Dutchy now don't you go putting ideas in Chuckles head Mmmmm the Ivy, well as you can see from the photo below we uncovered a BIG problem just taking the lump of Ivy off the front edge so we have left removing it from the side for the time being.
