Some of you know me well enough by now to know I go a little mad sometimes ;D For those of you who don't, in the past 18 months I've converted half a dog kennel and run into a sort of indoor cold frame, I call it the Poly Kennel or PK and I've also ripped up a chunk of flower borders and lawn etc at the top of the garden to make a veg area and some raised beds. Chuckles Mad Woman Veg Gdn be warned it's 9 pages long Well I'm at it again ;D I'm currently emptying a shed so it can be demolished and will be extending the area it stands on to make room for something new. I have some photo's to show as soon as I get them off the camera, hopefully in the next few days

Ok this is the area that coming under the the mad woman hammer. Hopefully the project should be completed within the next 5-6 weeks ;D The photo looks very glum atm, time of year If you can imagine......up and over the shed is a Ceanothus a pink rose and a Wisley Cream Clem, to the right of the shed there is a block paved area that is about 12" high up than the shed floor and is faced with a low brick wall, you can see some troughs sat on the top of it and pots in front of it too. To the right of this is a trellis that come from the boundary fence and come out just past the front of the shed. As part of this project everything has to go including the shed, all that will stay is the brick wall and half of the trellis which you can't see on this photo. I've started already moving pots and tubs cutting back and emptying the shed and this is how it currently looks As you can see I've still got loads to do and the weather isn't exactley the best. Everything is wet and horrid to handle I'll post more pics and details as I progress

It's amazing the difference a clear-out can have.
Is the shed on concrete, and if so what are you going to do with the area once you've removed the shed?

As we say up here in Glasgow, "Get tore in" I envy you Chuckles, I love a project that involves large tools and ripping out. Wish we lived closer, we could set up a wee demolition business together. ;D

OK few photo updates Looking at the shed area from the house, this was a few days ago before The Mad Woman started after she had moved pots, rocks and goodness knows what else and wafted and saw, long handled pruners and snips for a few hours From a different angle, looking down the garden. Part of the trellis on the right of the photo will be removed, roughly where you can see the Ferns and the empty terracotta pots. There will be steps up onto a paved area put here. and looking at the same area as the original photo's but a little further to the right, jeez what a cluttered up mess it looks Have had a couple of hours out there today and managed to remove some more of the stuff growing up the font of the shed, and taken all the trimming up to the bonfire. I also started trimming the growth on the bacl fence and on the trellis, Rambling Rector has had to be severly trimmed along with a couple of Jasmine. I hate doing it really but it has to go or the project won't work

It looks like an 'adventursome' garden!!! One you need to wander around and explore carefully! Mine's almost a blank canvas in comparison! I'm trying to get the'what's around there' look and you're trying to change it. ;D

Ooooh no Amo I'll never get rid of my 'what's around there' look never never never I need to make a gap in that trellis for the simple fact that I'll be having a larger shed/summer house type affair that will have French doors facing that trellis. Get yourself some poles and posts and get some stuctures up Amo, it soon all gets the 'what's around there' look.

I think your garden looks great, and I'd love to come and help with a bit of destructive but positive work (I mean that in the nicest sense!). I wish I had some trellis like that, but don't have a DIY inclined OH unfortunately

Already working on the structures and larger shrub planting Chuckles!!! Perhaps I should sort sort some of my own pics out Great Amo, start a thread and keep us posted fab fab fab ;D When you are planning structures think about what shade they will cast once you have stuff growing up them. Oooooooh please please start a thread, I'm so excited now Oooooooh I've had to pop back and add, think about seating areas and stuctures that will make shelter from the wind and areas that can be nice a cool to sit in on warmer days. See what you've started Amo ;D you've got me all of a dither And remember Rome wasn't built in a day

Just popped in for a T break and to have a moan I was hoping to crack on today and get some more clearing done, instead I've had start to move a load of stuff, pots, chairs, pavers, stones, BBQ etc etc that I moved the other day. Problem was I'd put them where OH will need to work when he comes to build and erect the new shed/summer house etc My poor little arms really do ache today

There's nothing worse is there Chuckles.? You move something somewhere 'out of the way' and then realise it's going to be 'in the way' and then you have to start again. Been there, done that! Loads!!!! ;D

I've just had the same problem with 30 25kg bags of ballast and sand!! I feel like Popeye!!! Are you a planner or a plonker? I'm a plonker myself but can retain and managed the plans in my head. Trouble is I've half an acre I'm playing with so I've started making notes to try and keep track of it all. Hubby wonders why I'm a bit vague sometimes, it's because I'm trying to keep all my plans in order!!

Amo, 30 25kg bags of ballast and sand, no wonder you feel like Popeye. Mmmmm now am I a planner or a plonker ? I'm a planner but also a change me mind as I go along sort of gal ;D I sort of start with a vision in my head, then think what is possible/practical, then think what can I utilise from my stash of salvage I don't like things to look new in the garden if I can help it. I chat to OH and run things by him then he say's you can't do this or that then we row, then I change my mind and make other suggestions ;D Hope you get the picture ;D Thanks LNG some would say it's a bit higgledy piggledy but I like your description Just found these other photo's of the area I'm changing Chuckles Gdn if you look at reply 2 and the 3rd and 4th photo, the 5th is of the view from this area. The 7th photo shows the 2 pieces of trellis that will have to be modified so you can step down from the new area, the left pices will definately have to go. Not got a lot done this last few days, well nothing worth photographing, just continued to clear stuff away and empty the shed, not much left in there now. Trimmed some more of the growth off the shed and now have a sizable bonfire to play with when the weather calms down a bit. Just checked with OH and he reckons he can start work on the shed/summer house in approx 2 weeks time, I'm so excited now coz that hopefully mean that in 3 weeks time it'll be done ;D.
