Is this the right place now?? It's all this shooting in and out between showers whilst trying to plant this lot. I popped down to Homebase to get some bits. Well popped isn't the right word when it's a 30 mile round trip but I had my driving head on I also ( ) picked up a 30 plant tray of Impatiens down to £1.49 coz one was missing and another of Lobelia also reduced. They also had the sweetpeas down to 49p a pot. Well, I couldn't leave them there. Their terracotta pots were 99p so I bought some of those to pop the tulip pots in to stop them blowing over. On the way back the nearer GC yelled at me to stop too. For around the wildlife puddle I bought: - Euonymus Emerald Gaiety " " Harlequin " " Kewensis Leucothoe Rainbow Leucothoe with very dark purple leaves Spiraea Gold Fountain White tree peony Hosta August Moon some large rocks Similar terracotta pots were £2.49 here so I'm glad I bought them at the DIY instead! ;D

Think you went a bit crazy there Amo ;D But good choices I've been going a bit mad too considering I had vowed not to be tempted. From Crocus, I have ordered two Hellebores, a dark red and a double pink. Iris chrysographes, and a species lily. From Dobbies, an assortment of Begonia tubers, an Arisaema and a grass, and from Homebase another two grasses, a rosemary a lavender and a Dianella. Oh, and a Choisya reduced to £3.75. I felt guilty about the Dianella, because it was £9.99. I never spend as much as that on a plant. But I suddenly have a liking for spikey things.

Had a pooh day at the office first thing and OH took me to a GC as a calming measure, his idea too. Spotted a statue like below in the reduced corner. I never really know what I want until I see it and I was surprised at this one. They were starting to go green, how I like them, and they looked at me and said, 'give us a home', so we did. There was £70 off too and I won't have to worry about trying to age them. They're stood in the corner behind OH's bench having a canoodle now and I think they'll be happy. We also had a phone call just as we were loading them into the car that was great news so, over all, the day turned out rather well.

I planted my Dianella today, then stepped on it and broke one of the flowerspikes clean off. But I stuck it back in the ground anyway. At the price of it, it should repair itself.

Forgive me Chuckles, for I have GCed.
It has been one day since my last spend. I hath been sorley tempted by the Rosa 'Schoolgirl' and the Rosa 'High Hopes' and the Hedera 'Gloire de Marengo' and yea thymus in profusion. A Lithodora 'Heavenly Blue' forced it self upon myne self with its minions of four pots and dahlia corms (half price) and fresias (half price) and lilies (half price) and ribes 'King Edward' (also half price).
I shall spend time in the garden talking to Mother as penance as I planteth her children.

First garden purchases of the year would you believe! 2 Drumstick Primulas, one mauve one red and 2 sweet pepper plants (they cost less than a packet of seeds and they're already 4" high). They need the best start they can get in case summer is like last year (hush your mouth Ruthie!)

Is it a copy of any famous scupltors? I went to Kew Gardens on Thursday and they were just taking down the Henry Moore sculptures. They look amazing in the garden setting. I may post them later if I have time. Unfortunately most are covered in netting ready for their removal. PJ

Thank you for liking the statue PJ. I knew I wanted something in the corner but I never know what it is until I see it!! I don't think it's after anyone in particular, there are quite a few around, but it is sandstone and seems to age quite well! This is it in situ. Even the flash came on it's so dark and gloomy out there ;D

That staue is very nice & looks really nice there! Looks like it's always been there. Didn't buy anything today, but my neighbour came round with 4 polyanthus that she has no room for, after hiding in the shed for 5 mins to get out of the rain showers then gave up & headed to mine for tea & some of my home baking! Free plants - cool! She promises more soon!

Sort of 'in advance' confession - plus I'd like to share this with you in a provocative sort of way: for those who thought my 'white alstromeria' a bit of an indulgence, the same people have teamed up with this lot from France to offer Irises like never before... www.iris-cayeux.comThe printed catalogue dropped through the letterbox this morning, and so far I can't see how I can buy less than a dozen or so... that's the other kidney gone then...
