Yesterday I bought five plants for the price of four: Verbena Hastata Blue Spires; Digitalis Lanata; Aquilegia Red Stars, and a couple of plants for LP (her choice). And hopefully the chimenea fiasco is over: one has been returned and we have ordered another one, with a cover that should fit - fingers crossed!

I really should bookmark this thread.YOu're right WT, when I was at the GC the other day I managed to get out without buying too much just 15 strawberries and , just john innis compost and some manure. Today however was a different story. I've ended up with 3 more clematis and now I'm worried they're far too big for my garden Help Plocket. And more compost and more manure and my first rose ever. Must say when I took the rose out of it's pot it does'nt have much of a root As I have no experience with roses I don't know if this is normal or not. I've planted it up and we'll see how it does.

LNG Rose with not much root are quite common. They've been lifted and potted on. Just give them the best you have around those baby roots and nuture them. Best to buy roses in the autumn if you want better roots, they're all usually good plants now a days any time though!! ;D

I went to ALDI today and bought two sprayers, 5 Litre/3Bar. There are two different ones, one labelled as Timber Sprayer (Brown and White) and the other a Garden Sprayer (Green and White). The only difference is the colour. I bought one of each, one for weedkiller and one for insecticide to use in the greenhouse etc.
The sprayers are very good quality, brass lance, plastic body with pressure gauge, safety valve and shoulder strap. At an unbelievable price of £8.99 (sprayers normally seem to be around £22).
