Perhaps being in ROI which of course is still part of the european union makes delivery a little quicker.. not sure.

I bought seeds in Wilko's runner beans french beans viola and bergamot, I wanted hanging basket liners but they only had ones for small baskets, so a trip somewhere else in the week is on the cards.

My FG order was on the blue bin when I got back from shopping at lunch time. All present and correct, potted up and fingers crossed they all grow.

A new one for us, we do love Geums. Jenny also bought some lovely dark coloured Petunia in good sized pots and some Osteospermum.

Which Geum is it Ladygardener? My Farmer Gracy order was here when I got back last night, the peony is desperate to get going!

Well it says on the label Fiery Tempest but all examples online have shown red only with no mention of the lovely apricot/peachy orange that the blooms have when just open. When I googled it the history is that it is a cross between Geum Beechwood Apricot and Geum Red Dragon. I've googled loads of geum suppliers but can't find one described like it which is strange. Jasmine Barbara, glad you've gotten your replacements. Did you get some marginal or water plants Jasmine? I took a little trip to Lidl this morning just after it opened. It was strange for me to be in a shop again but we headed straight for the plants and then to the till and then home again. We bought a couple of trays of blue lobelia, some 2ltr pots of lovely bushy pelargonium, bedding petunia, marigolds for my neighbour back at home and some trailing petunia and bedding begonia. All super quality and very healthy looking.

Well, it's very pretty Ladygardener, I've thought for a while that I'd quite like to have a National Collection of Geum - I love them! We didn't like the choice of pond plants at the GC but we did get rocks and large pebbles. I am going to look on line in a minute. We also bought a squash plant, a courgette plant, some sunflowers and a lovely colour geranium. I lost all my seedlings, not sure why, even half the Larkspur have keeled over.

Some of mine have keeled over too Jasmine, and I think I've solved the mystery of no reply from SR, I didn't buy the dahlia set Sharon bought them for me for my birthday, so they wont have a record of the woman making the complaint buying them, I've asked Sharon to email them see if that works. Can we see a picture of the pond please. Jasmine,

That would explain it then Barbara, SR not the plants keeling over. Hope you get some joy from them through Sharon. It's raining at the minute but I will get a pond pic as soon as it stops.

My pond plants arrived from Bakkers, didn't realise they were in the Netherlands. What lovely plants, looks like you can buy with confidence from them and they do other things beside pond plants.

That's great to know Jasmine. Jenny has ordered another 3 tonnes of enriched soil, she will have muscles like poppi when she has finished shoveling all that. The load should arrive this coming week.

Spent my £10 gift voucher with Hayloft, also used the GW21 code, brought the price down below their free £75 delivery by quite a bit, but I wasn't charged at the checkout, will need to find more spaces for everything, don't care - I need things to look forward to at the moment, plants will do

A gorgeous Calendula popped up on my FB this morning so I have just done a little order with Stocks and Green (never heard of them before today). I ordered these seeds:
Digitalis 'Excelsior Hybrids', Tropaeolum 'Cherry Rose', Papaver somniferum 'Lauren's Grape' and Calendula 'Sherbet Fizz'
What I liked was they had a 'What to sow in May' tab!

I do like their website Jasmine. I remember growing "cherry rose" at the allotment, it's lovely. I think you'd actually given me the seeds... Lovely selection you've made.

I've had a reply from T & M they are going to replace the hydrangeas at the end of the month. Also had an email from Hayloft, yet another 'crop failure' so delayed delivery, I'm wondering if they have more orders than plants

Just before teatime 42 Hayloft plugs arrived, mainly osterspurmums with a few nemesias as well - job for tomorrow if I can find 42 pots I've watered them and put them in one of the growhouses for now.

No, they are based in the Netherlands Barbara, but they are still quick to send orders and there is 10% off at the minute with EARLYBIRD. Glad you got a replacement for your dahlias. I've checked my dahlias as they are being very slow, they have roots but some just have no top growth.

I think a lot of our Dahlia very slow this year too Jasmine, I'm sure the cold weather has'nt helped. Barbara we've ordered from Farmer Gracey too, they're very reasonable and the service was quick.

I did buy quite a few plants from Farmer Gracy and most have been OK, but some aren't up yet, colocasias mainly. The caladiums have been brilliant, one of the daylilies is a dud, no top growth. Just a slight concern that Boris et al haven't fully implemented the Brexit checks on plants yet, it could get difficult if we can only receive them if we pay phytosanitary inspection rate (over £150 per order) at customs. There isn't much transparency at the moment from our Government on when they will apply the new rules, and I expect all bulb imports will treble in price as bulk will be the norm, cheapest option, rather than bespoke customer orders direct.
