I seem to remember that it cost £10 an hour when I learned, which I think was in 1984.

I've just looked at the BSM website, and the prices of lessons vary depending on where you live. They were about £22 for an hour lesson in Staffordshire, but where I used to live they were £26 per hour! www.bsm.co.uk/book-lessons/price-lookup.cgi

£26 down here as well, £28 if you want a motorway lesson! Mind you, that's no worse than horse-riding lessons, and don't hurt as much! ;D

I managed to pass first time, OH and my kids did too. My Dad didn't have to take a test as such, he came out of the army and was given a full licence for cars, motorbikes and trucks (he was a driver in WW2 in Italy) x Tig

I passed mine 2nd attempt the first one I was so nervous I just totally cocked it up! The lessons are costing £40.00 per hour and the test is £82.00 I also have to pay for the theory test which is £30 odd I think. I am actually dreading doing the hazard perception test, I have heard that its really hard to pass Off to Waterstones for my theory test for drivers of large vehicles book this weekend, that should make for fun reading ;D Been talking to my favourite lorry driver today and he was really surprised that I am going for it. He thinks I will be ok even FOR a woman BTW scottish sandra - there will be no girly stuff on my lorry I'm gonna have all shiny black and loads of chrome (well in my head I will!!) Oh and your right about the bosses to nobbery seems to be a requirement ;D

Failed first one because I overtook a parked car and cyclist--at the same time!
Failed second one--I reversed too wide round a corner
Passed Third time.

If I had a lorry, it would probably be covered in compost just like my poor wee car. I sat my test when I was 17, failed. Then when I was 38, passed Sat my bike test and took two shots at that.

Karlslass, Karlslass, anyone for a copy ;D Ha ha - IF i get a cb I will be Gloria, because some of the drivers call me Gloria behind my back - they think I dont know. My favourite driver told me ages ago that when they talk about me they refer to me as Gloria - the cheeky buggers! If I end up working with them I am definatley gooing to have a "Gloria" number plate on the front of my wagon cheaper than Karlslass innit !
