Anyone else getting sucked into this? I try to avoid it, but somehow end up watching (I blame my Mum and her love of watching the ballroom dancing competions from Blackpools tower ballroom and other venues on Come Dancing - my brain hurts tonight and I can't remember who presented them?) The 'celebs' who do it are so brave, not only to learn to dance but wearing the costumes ... The rugby guy is hot, so is the actor who did a good jive tonight (you can tell I've been paying attention can't you ;D) And from the females ... well I reckon the lady off the one show is quite good, I also liked Cheri Lunghi?, Lisa Snowden and Heather Small ... Who will be off? Gary Rhodes (not an ounce of Rhythm) or the swimmer? ;D x Tig

Agree there Tiggy - I would vote off the Swimmer - no rhythm at all - dreadful Poor Man

Yes, the poor swimming guy I was dreading the judges comments, but they were quite kind really. He is very handsome though. I am so shallow

It has to be Gary Rhodes off for me, he cant seem to get in time with the music. Austin Healy I missed his dance but caught the Holby Doctor and thought what a cracker of a jive he did. As for the girls at the moment my fav has to be Cheri, and Jodie Kidd did very well for such a tall lady, but she just needs to let go a bit and just enjoy it all. Is anyone watching the American dancing on Friday night?

I have watched all the series! Sad I know! But I admire their bravery, the standard seems higher year on year! I think the swimmer (poor soul I canny remember his name) needs to go or Gary Rhodes, they really aren't in the same ball park as any of the others. I am liking Don Warrington & the guy off Holby, even John Sargeant was a surprise. I guess Austin Healy as he has really got a knack for it so could possibly win? As for the girls I like the lass from the one show so far.

Oh I just LOVE Strictly Come Dancing - LP and I snuggle up and watch it from start to finish, on video in the week because it's on a bit late for her. I think Austin is on for a chance of winning because he really seems to have a sense of rhythm and style. As for the girls, I'd love to see Cherie win. I love Gary Rhodes but he can't dance for toffee, and although Mark Foster is very easy on the eye he's just to gangly. Aaah it's nice to have a special thread for this

We were all spot on with the predictions this week - bye bye Gary! Not sure how long the swimmer (well done P obviously paying attention - Mark Foster) will last, I think it is not only his dancing but the threat of the 'speedos' if he gets to the finals which have put folk off! Trust you to find him 'handsome' WT x Tig

Mark will do well as a model - his chiseled jaw and handsome looks ;D as he will be the next vote off for the Men
I think poor Jodie Kidd looks nothing more than a gangly schoolgirl doing her best at the school prom - I dont think Gillian Taylforth should have gone IMO

Cheri makes me ashamed, she is so fit, though I suppose she is a bit younger than I am. I'm hoping she'll do well. At least this year there is not a contestant who is really rubbish, but who keeps getting votes while better dancers have to leave. I feel really sorry for Austin Healey, though the reason for that could be because of having a motor mechanic for a father and a car junkie for a brother. Who could be cruel enough to name their son after a car? I was brought up with the phrase "Austin Healey 'Sprite'" Think my brother wanted one.

I'm not at all surprised Gary is out, but I haven't seen it yet. LP and I will probably watch some of it tonight. I think Mark Foster is delicious to look at and even LP thinks he's sexy!! I think Austin's name is so funny, but I do think his parents had a warped sense of humour to give him such a name.

I'm a strictly widow - I have to watch cos the OH is a strictly nutter - and BBC2 each night as well - spare a thought for me! he cant stop talking about the leopard skin cat suit the other week - I think I need a bucket of water!

That cat suit was a tad risque I thought I am not into watching the BBC2 nightly update - you can get 'strictly' overload ;D

I try and catch It Takes Two but it's at LP's bedtime so I sometimes miss it. We thought the cat suit was vile! I know I'm going to sound like a right bitch (jealous more like!) but it made her bottom look huge because her ankles were so thin! Even OH thought it looked rediculous and when we saw that people had been swooning at Ola's outfit we thought it was a joke! Mind you we aren't Ola fans - we think she creates dances so she can show off her own abilities and ignores her partner. LP has now perfected a jive move - she jumps and kicks out her leg to the side twice while flicking her hands up in the air, then does the same with the other leg. It's brilliant! Here you go FB - just for you! ;D blogs.mirror.co.uk/strictly-come-dancing/dancers/andrew-castle-and-ola-jordan/

The naked bits were fine - it was the shiny snakeskin bits that I didn't like so much!! ;D I'm glad you enjoyed it though

She's born to dance - whether she's good or not I'm not qualified to comment but she can't sit still when music comes on, no matter what sort. Takes after her paternal grandmother

CA I've been watching bits and pieces of the american one as well. Did last year too, they seem to have a high standard for the most part. What age is that actress she's certainly game for anything. I'm really enjoying the british one, I like Craig best as a judge even 'tho he can be quite rude sometimes. I'm thinking the BBC2 it takes 2 not as good as usual for some reason. I think Claudia has lost some of her sparkle.

I just wish Claudia would cut her fringe - she has such a pretty face she has no need to hide it.
I think Cherie Lunghi is 56 LNG - she's wonderful isn't she?

Hope you're having a great Birthday Plocket. ;DI agree about Claudia's fringe but I think she's lost weight and looks a bit peaky. The older woman I was referring to is on the american one P, shes about 80 or something!! Dancing her heart out she is. I think Cherie is great, hope she does well, she puts me to shame.

First time I've seen the Ladies perform as I missed the first couple of episodes. I see what you mean about Cheri Longhi. She's really great and looks great too! I'm afraid Jessie may have to go although she obviously has some support from the voting public. SCD is still great as long as you ignore the hype and gossip, which I do very willingly!!!

I thought Rachel Stevens did a great foxtrot tonight, very light footed. Cheri was very elegant and smooth with the rumba - I said to OH whilst watching that she was the same age as me, he was very kind and said she had more wrinkles (wonder what he's after ) Wish I had her figure!! Jodie struggles to look elegant whilst dancing, tall does not seem compatible with a rhythmical interpretation somehow It could be her or Jellie (sorry Jessie) ;D The blokes dance was very complex - and quite amusing watching some of them trying to remember it - John Sargeant in particular - but he comes across as soooo sweet x Tig

Have just watched the dances and I have to say...I think Jessie was the worst (sorry) and what on earth was she wearing?
And I know it sounds odd but hasn't Lisa got amazing legs <green with envy smiley> And Cherie is brilliant.

Jessie is 2nd bad - will be between the two I think

The men's dance did indeed seem quite complex. They have quite a lot to learn even if they're not competing. I just don't see Jodi as a dancer at all I'm afraid, she does'nt bring any passion at all into it. I think the dance off will be her and Jessie.
