Thank you for the nom LG. I love that tree. Unfortunately it has a bad split in it where the trunk forks but our lovely tree surgeon is going to do something to it so we don't lose it but it will be safe. When I'm sweeping up its leaves I really feel autumn has arrived.

Thanks for the nom Tig. I agree - my drive to work at the moment is spectacular but soon...it'll be winter and drab. Ah well, it'll be spring after that! ;D

Thanks for the nom Jilly. That is so sad. We had 2 liquidambers in our front garden when we moved in but OH pruned one and it died...it may have been a complete coincidence of course!!! ;D

That's the start of it for sure Chuckles. All the winds we're having will soon knock any loose leaves off. I noticed some flying around today. The other day when I was at the allotment the other day I took this one

It's sad to see the leaves turning autumnal, but at the same time it brings a burst of colour to the acers that really brightens up the dullest of days

Jasmine it is acer palmatum Shigitatsu Sawa, it has the most vibrant bright green foliage in spring, then matures into a deeper green through summer and performs it's magic again in autumn. I've posted full length photos on my garden thread Well worth getting if you have a good place and room for it. Thanks for the nom LG

Love the colours against the blue sky Jasmine. I suppose there aren't many neighbours about at that time of the morning to wonder what on earth you were doing when you took the first pic

Oh, thank you for the noms and comments ladies! I just love that tree! I was quite sad when the tree surgeon said it was in a bit of a precarious state but he seems to have saved the day! It was just Bloob and Bons that were wondering what I was doing Jilly! The moon through the branches was quite striking and then the sun cutting across the top of the house on the top of the tree was amazing too! May we have lots of sunny days to cheer us on through winter Chuckles!
