In Omagh there is The Ulster American Folk Park where schools get the chance to try out old methods and the staff dress in costume too Plocket. It's a great experience for everyone, sounds like LP had a great time. Barbara, I go back to the hospital Monday for a check x ray and they will put another plaster of paris on for about 6 weeks but I'm hoping they'll let me put my foot on the ground when I have the new plaster on. Still hobbling here with my zimmer frame. Hope you do well in your bowles and you get a good day for it. I'll be having my Daughter Jenny come visit again, bless her she'll stay until after my appointment at the hospital on monday.

Combination of gardening and watching footie for me. A couple of important games on the weekend; Liverpool/West Ham on Saturday midday (for us) and Man U/Man City Sunday morning (for us). Arsenal/Chelsea should be entertaining/interesting as well, but isn't going to have any impact on the title race.
Gardening wise, I expect to continue working cow manure compost I got from a nearby farm last weekend into my beds (my garden beds, you understand ;D ), plant up the rest of my dahlias and gladioli bulbs, and maybe look to put in my toms and a few bedding annuals. Still a bit early for toms and annuals/still a risk of frost, but the temperature has been holding steadily well above frost levels over the past week or two, so I'll see.

I hope the weather stays pleasant for everyone and a good time is had by all Nothing out of the ordinary for me this weekend, washing, housework, cooking and the mandatory gardening ;D I have been looking after my neighbours garden and greenhouse this past week whilst she has been cruising the Med so I might pop round and do a bit of weeding for her as I seem to have done most of mine (until all the blasted dandelion seeds start to germinate - they are everywhere!) x Tig

Nothing thrilling on Saturday (LP's ballet class then hair cuts for the two of us) but on Sunday we are going to Dunge Valley Hidden Gardens near Macclesfield. We've never been before but are really looking forward to the visit. I hope the weather is nice

Going on a special tour of Trerice House - a National Trust property near Newquay. They have had an architectural/archeological survey and the tour will highlight the next steps forward. We have done a similar one regarding the garden/parkland and thought this would be equally interesting ( especially as it is indoors and it is going to rain on Saturday!!) ;D

I didn't get my first tent 'till I was 25 Tig, so your grandson is very spoiled ;D sorry your daughters visit was spoiled by the wet LG, and time does fly when we are enjoying ourselves doesn't it. My eldest grandson still has some sats to do, the youngest have finished theirs, hopefully all goes well, personally I think they are tested toooooo much.

I agree - tests at 11, and until recently tests at 7 . It's all done under such strict conditions at 11 too. This w/e I will be doing loads and loads of washing to catch up with myself as we've been away. Then I will have to tackle the mountain of ironing I end up with too. Lots of weeds to pull up out of the garden as well.

Barbara sounds like that'll keep you busy for a fair while but sanded wooden floorboards are just lovely. My Daughter Ruth has done some of the ones in her home and I love them. N.O. hope you have a great time. Look forward to catching up with the pic threads. I've come back from a lovely time in Carlow with my Daughter Jenny we've had glorious weather these past few days, quite a surprise for Ireland and it's a bank holiday weekend for them too. ;D Now that I can manage to hobble with one crutch I've been oout in the garden and intend to do bits and pieces this afternoon.

I took the boys and one of their friends to see Night in the Museum 2 this evening. It was very well done. I'd thought a bit about letting them go by themselves but I'm glad I went now. ;D
