Is it a young plant Rosefriend? The flowers don't quite look fully open so it could still be CF - this is mine

That's the thing with Clematis Rosefriend, Tig, a lot depends on where it's sited and how old it is, some of those that repeat flower can have quite different flowers in spring compared to their late summer ones as well.

I see it Rosefriend, looks like another flower is trying to form on top It looks a little dark to me for Crystal Fountain, although like the others say, it so much depends on the position or even the time of year, on my pink & white Fond Memories the first flowers are coming through nearly green due to the buds forming when the weather was cold. Here's my Crystal Fountain for comparison, pic was taken when the weather was overcast, so the colour is quite true

Yes, there is a new flower growing through the old one...wonder if the temperatures had something to do with that..?? I am still uncertain as to what mine is - I started to go through my labels today - might be quite a while before I find it, if ever!! It is in a corner and now, thanks to next door putting a tin shed on their side, is in shade for more than half the day...wonder is that is the problem... Yours is different, no doubt Jilly !!

Rosefriend one of the reasons why I thought your clem could be multiblue is that it isn't showing the vivid green sepals in the centre which is a characteristic of cf - mine has more flowers today, they are wet so may not look very good for long!

That has been bothering me all the time Tig, - I thought maybe that came later and I have been looking every day - I'll get a pic in a minute - don't think they are Multi Blue though... I am wondering if it was sold to me as Crystal Fountain and it was "xxx" and I'll probably never know...

Ok - this is mine again Tig, - first the flower in flower one - the outer petals have fallen off leaving a sort of star - I think it is pretty... ...and here is a pic of them all - not one green middle - I think it will remain a mystery...

Ah nice cornflower RF, if only I had looked in. My allotment has loads of them. Once they are there they are there to stay provided you don't weed them out when they are seedlings. So the Clem is still a mystery eh? Ah well she is lovely. Hm how about Mysterious Marvel.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to get a cutting of this very aromatic leaved plant. I think it's some kind of salvia but have several at home here and none smell like this waist high plant. It's herbaceous and now a couple of years old. I have a feeling it might be some kind of Nepetia as the smell is very similar to the ones I have. As you can see from the pics, the stems that carry the flowers are themselves about 20 or 30 cm long although the whole plant stands over 100cm. Anyone have any ideas? andy, wendya, Rosefriend, Tig, Ladygardener, Jilly, Dutchy, Ron, Jasmine Jilly Chuckles isabella Geranium Barbara theinsidegardener Auricula
