You should be able to see the three seeds in each of the papery translucent seedheads. They are the darker spherical blobs (technical term there ). You can either sow them now where you want them to flower or save some until spring. I think they do better sown in situ. They only need to be sown an eighth of an inch deep (3mm) & about a foot apart, they can be quite large plants when mature, I've had an enormous one this year. Keep the seeds watered, damp not sitting in water though. They don't take long to germinate and over winter fine here.

Does anyone have any idea what this is please? The writing on the label has faded quite a bit, but looks like it reads something like cuptee ....

Talking about Lunaria reminded me - I promised to save some seeds from my perennial plants, but it's very disappointing as they don't appear to be setting seed. There might possibly be just a very few...I'll let you know. I can't remember who wanted them? ?

I wonder if anyone knows what this pretty delicate plant is? It was part of a collection of blue or white plants grown from seed this year. The pk did'nt specify what the flowers were unfortunately. I have it growing in a container along with some salvia and nigella. Tig, wendya, bagpuss, andy, Geranium,

Isn't it pretty Ladygardener, I'm growing larkspur (not madly successfully ) for the first time this year, the foliage certainly looks similar & I'll be sure to inspect the flowers (if it ever does) to see if they are the same.

Tig, Jilly, Thank you very much for the identification. It's a very pretty and delicate little flower but it stands up by itself which is a big bonus, I have it in a very sheltered spot in semi shade.

andy, Geranium, Ladygardener, Jilly, RosefriendThis is the plant I picked up at the open gardens event. I think it is a pulmonaria, but the leaf shape is slightly more rounded than most of those I already have. Be interested to hear what others think before I find a space for it.

It certainly looks like a Pulmonaria, Tig. I realise that most of them have pointed leaves, but it has the distinctive spots, so I'm 99.9% sure.

Tig,I think it's definately a Pulmonaria and from what I've read there are Pulmonaria out there with rounded leaves and they could be hybrids of Pulmonaria Saccharata. The leaves tend to be small and rounded with regular silver or pale-green markings according to what I've read. You'll get a better picture I think, in springtime when we see what colour the flowers are. I love all the Pulmonarias, so I'd say it's a good buy whatever the flowers turn out like.

I'm almost positive it's Pulmonaria too Tig, it looks just like the old original one that I've got all over that originally came from my Mum's, which is a lot more rounded than the fancy varieties.

This is todays 'rescue' - it does look a bit like a bromeliad, but I can't find one that is the same so would be grateful for your thoughts.

It's really pretty isn't it, the flowers reminded me of something too Rosefriend, had a bit of a google & I think it might be a form of Myrtle, the flowers certainly look them same, so perhaps there is an alpine type variety

Hm there is a similarity but the Italian one has round leaves loves extreme drought as it only grows in walls and has purple tips to the stamen. Which happen to be miles longer too. And there are four instead of three petals on most of the It one. The flowers on the mystery plant are just over the size of old twenty p coins those big silver octagonal ones.

Hm just noticed there are 3 petal ones too.
It might be a realtive.

Any thoughts on this, feel free to tell me I'm cherishing a weed (not the first time that has happened ). Came as a spare seedling with my SR order last year, pulled it out when it started to get a bit big and potted it on, just in case.
