The torch arrives here on Monday, briefly. One day, I believe. The nearest to me will be here....coming from the right, turning right and heading back into town. Passing the Ghost bike wot I supplied a couple of years ago, mentioned in another thread... maps.google.ie/maps?q=7+Harolds++Cross+Road,+Dublin+6&hl=en&ll=53.329489,-6.275339&spn=0.042186,0.109177&sll=53.329398,-6.275435&layer=c&cbp=13,44.37,,0,13.88&cbll=53.329514,-6.275446&hnear=7+Harold's+Cross+Rd,+Harold's+Cross,+Dublin+6W&t=h&z=14&panoid=Mm1ev6sPF0Y7CoXENjdQ6Q b.s.

Well done Barbara and thanks for sharing. I see the same 'tour' buses must be doing the entire trip! It has been very successful so far, getting everyone out to watch the procession and the children here were really excited and enthusiastic about the event x Tig

Can I mention that I've written an Olympics parody? It's free too ;D www.smashwords.com/books/view/142644You can also get it from Amazon for Kindle, but they won't let me give it away If this is out of place/against the rules, feel free to remove. Just thought it might give someone a laugh.

I went outside at 8:12am to 'listen' to the bells - and there were none here. I thought St Marys in town might have 'peeled' for the occasion, but evidently not. Expect I'll watch part of tonights ceremony, and all of it if it's good x Tig

Will anyone be watching the opening ceremony tonight? No, weather permitting I'll be up the plot getting ready for Sunday's open day. To be honest, it's not even started yet and I'm sick of being bombarded by Olympic news, this, that and everything else already. The BBC has been banging on for weeks now.

The church bells rang in our village this morning...........I thought it was 8.12 tonight as that is 20.12, but obviously I was wrong Like Tig, I'll watch part of it, and all of it if it's good My worry is that it might be naff - all people really want to see is fireworks ;D ;D The pre- games hype has been a tad wearing, but I'm interested in the actual thing, once it starts I'll follow it all and watch the bits I especially like ( swimming, cycling, gymnastics and athletics) Has anyone got tickets for any events?

We had bells ringing this morning too and the Red Arrows flew over City Hall at 1300hrs. I heard them but there was too much cloud to see them. I'll definately be watching the opening ceremony and maybe recording it too. I'll watch some of the sports if I get the chance, gymnastics, tennis, swimming, diving, and maybe more besides. ;D
