Just heard on the news that the 8 Asian badminton players have been disqualified and sent home ....quite right too!!!
People have not paid, sometimes horrendous prices, to see crap like that...

Just a word re the rowing eight and their "disappointment" at winning bronze. They gave their all....and at that moment of defeat they would have been totally crushed. It doesn't help that they had microphones shoved under their noses with all the usual inane questions. Given time for reflection they will be proud of that bronze.....and so they should be.

And on the badminton hoo-ha..... In all previous competitions the knock-out system has been used. Apparently the round robin system was used this time so that less able competitors from weaker badminton countries would get media exposure, thus promoting the game to a wider audience. So that's another good idea gone down the pan then.

It was a stupid idea, rife for manipulation. There is a lot more tactics in sport these days, it isn't about the taking part - it's all about winning for some of them. Well done Bradley & Chris - no way to cheat or play tactics in a time trial, just sporting brilliance x Tig

Great day yesterday for us Brits for a change, up to 5th in the medal table WOW, I would rather watch the minority sports I love the shooting and archery even though we dont have any chance of winning gold in thoses, wish they would show the prelim rounds in the in-door air rifle and pistol like they do in the archery. Keep up the good work lads and lassies

I'm losing track of it all, ever time I come back in we have another medal, I wish they would keep showing them being won instead of talking, we cant all sit in front of the TV all day.

100m semis, good to see two young brit sprinters coming through. Made the semifinals and acquitted themselves well. I follow the telly athletics and didn't know them. Good runs for them both.
Bolt and Blake look frightening, Going to be a great final later.

I have to say that the Olympics is really great up to now and certainly on this side of the water there is a lot of respect for how London has done everything....it is really liked...also that GB has so many medals....

I'm glad Christine Ohourugu did well, and did herself justice. I liked that Colin Jackson piece about her, improving her times every round during major championships.
She only ran 2 sub 50 sec races, compared to 44 to the winner!!!

RF I think we feel proud too, lots of people were knocking us and saying we would make a bu**er of it, and sad to say the ticket selling hasn't worked out well but that's just one of those small things and hasn't spoiled it for us at all, the crowds watching outside on big screens has been good to watch, we have one here in Manchester and the people have been watching during the day when they have lunch breaks and things.
I feel all in all we have done a good job of it.
