I couldn't have pulled those lovely little violas up either Tig, all those pretty little faces looking at you ;D I always reckon you can keep them going for ages and ages if you just take those few minutes to deadhead as you pass them Your 'Hotpot' is sure gonna be HOT Tig, love it. Barbara what a fab idea to do the lettuce in a basket, keeps the slippery slimey s&s away, they look really healthy. I've added a few more small pots of bits and bobs to my collection

What wonderful displays, and the lettuce is great Barbara, I shall copy that one Just had a look in my book and the fuchsia is magellanica riccartonii (according to the label) and when I was planting it out I snapped a tip off, which I just pushed in an empty pot of compost, and it's growing x Tig

I love that silver leaves (is it?) a Geranium in the second pic down Chuckles. I've got a little Fuchsia magellanica riccartonii in my mixed hanging basket Tig, MIL gave me her big plant when she moved, that died but I managed to get one cutting going. I've got most of my Summer pots planted up now, I've been left with 3 empty pots though, I may leave it for a few weeks & then see what I can rescue from Homebase. This is the Bishops Children (thanks LG) I've got buds already. I've planted this trough up with Penstamons, Stocks & Tig's Duchess Blue Asters. Jillyx

I've miscalculated my needs this year. I'll be looking round for odd spaces to fit plants into!

Love the idea of the Lettuce in a basket Barbara very ingenious (oh what a big word for me) I think I will copy that next year with the Salad Leaves right outside the kitchen door, saves me going down to the GH or in the veg patch to get some.

I love that silver leaves (is it?) a Geranium in the second pic down Chuckles. Its a Stalk's Bill Jilly, Erodium x kolbianum 'Natasha' I never remember the names so always try and keep the labels ;D Its a matt forming alpine, grows 4" high and flowers june - sept, is evergreen with silvery veined leaves. It is hardy but needs protection from winter wet, likes full sun and gritty well drained soil. I find these sort of plants do better for me in pots, they get lost in the garden. This way I can place them where I like I really need to put those two in a bigger pot together as they are only tiny 3" pots. I'm loving your summer pots Jilly, very colourful and I like the sound of hanging baskets in a tree Amber

Nightingale. Now don't go blaming us when you end up with an incurable addiction ;D I saved these poor little souls yesterday. My friend called for a cuppa and brought them, they had been clearing out the bedding troughs where I used to work and they were destined for the bin. Soon got them in a large pot, fresh compo and some water ;D I'll get a few more weeks out of them if not longer

Well done your friend for thinking of you Chuckles just think of all the seeds you can save. Put my remaining HB's which where in the GH outside yesterday to harden off didnt take them in last night as it was so warm now I need a trip to the Range to get another couple of brackets there is a lot more choice there and the prices are very cheap.

Those are lovely and bright. I don't have a single pelagonium flower out yet, just not enough sunshine.

Wonderful as usual Isabella and the Puts Folly and La Campanella fuchsias are fabulous - mine are now flowering (many thanks) and I am amazed at how bushy the plants have become within a short space of time. The African Blue Basil together with Busy Lizzies looks really good.

Love the purpley/ blue basket. What is in that? I tried to grow something similar with a pinky pelargonium grandiflorum, lavender and osteospermum but it's nowhere near as nice as that.

Thanks for the Nom's There are just 2 types of plants in that purpley/blue basket Totp, a purpley/blue trailing lobelia and trailing petunias. The petunia is called Prescilla, she's has a double flower and is two tones of purple. She also has the most devine and I mean devine smell, one of the reasons I like her so much.
